Treasured Memories Emoji Crop - Day 3

So day 3 was as fun as both the other days, as it always is. I forgot to mention in yesterday's post that I also won one of the door prizes! I tried for it on Friday night but was not successful. Saturday was obviously a better day luck wise for me! It has paper with moose on it! Totally me!!!

The day also started very early as I had told my crafty pal Tricia I would come out with her to watch her dance rehearsal. I obviously love this girl to do that! LOL. Of course, it was also a chance to see the costumes I helped them with. It was a lot of fun!!

And then she came to crop with us. So a great day. I started out by making a shadow box (that the lovely Tricia brought for me!) with stuff from our zombie run back in 2014. It turned out even better than I had hoped!!

Then being on a zombie kick I decided to do a two page layout using more of my zombie pictures, along with the zombie bumper sticker I ended up with along the way at the run.

My dad had the best reaction when I posted these pictures on Facebook. He said "Only you would make yourself look like that on purpose!" I beg to differ, but it was pretty funny!!

I also made some ATC's for a friend for a swap, along with a card for another friend for a different swap. But I can't show those just yet!

But all good things must come to an end and the crop was no different. I cannot believe how productive I was. And then, to end the weekend, I got to see an AMAZING musical with my mom and nieces. As their Christmas gift I got us tickets to go see Mama Mia and we had front row seats. Needless to say we all loved it!!

I am not looking forward to the long drive back, but I have to say I really had a fun weekend. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Treasured Memories Emoji Crop - Day 2

So Day 2 was even more fun than day one! Started off with a fun Emoji breakfast! Very entertaining way to start the day!

And then the day really got going - I cannot believe how productive a day I had. As well as a bunch of layouts, I participated in both the challenges they put on. This is the first one - I made a box to show off the pictures they printed off of me and my gang! And what do you know - I won a prize for it!!

And then for the second challenge I did this tag. I had a lot of fun playing with my new Dylusions Shimmer sprays. I didn't think I would use them this weekend and I ended up using them on a couple different projects in the end.

I also did one of the make n'takes. And this one was perfect to use with the pictures of me in my unicorn onesie I brought. I WAS the unicorn emoji come to life!! LOL

And then like I said, I got a LOT of layouts done! I was just on a roll apparently. I am really happy with how they all came out. And to top it off, for all the Steampunk ones I was given the paper by several of my friends at the crop - BONUS!!

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the custom paper that you  can get at Treasured Memories!!!

And of course I had to use the emoji paper they gave us.

I had almost forgotten about these cards that I got at the Comic Expo - but they made for some fun layouts. And totally my steampunk style!!

As with all the crops at Treasured, they feed us really well. And the desserts are always yummy. This time they were also totally fun!!

Looking forward to being even more creative tomorrow! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

TREASURED MEMORIES EMOJI CROP - DAY 1

So crop day is finally here! By the time I took out all my goodies that I had pre-ordered and all the goodies they gave us for the crop, I  started out with a VERY full table! All the more fun things to play with!!!

And of course, Friday is always full of fun antics as that is the day that people tend to dress up - Treasured Memories crops are so fun because they always have a theme.  The theme this time was Emoji and my group of gals did not disappoint!!

I even won a prize - kinda nice since my unicorn costume was so HOT!!

And to boot, I got a bunch of stuff done! I completed 2 two-page layouts, as well as another Doctor Who themed layout. It is so easy to be creative at Treasured Memories when the owner will make you custom paper for your projects!!

I am looking forward to more antics tomorrow! Till then, stay crafty my peeps.

Let the Crafty Adventures Begin!!!

Headed out of town yesterday to go to the city for my crop weekend at Treasured Memories. I only went as far as Grimshaw and hung out with my pal Donna. We had to watch the ladies Olympic hockey game (Canada vs. USA) - too bad our girls didn't win. It was really nice not having to drive as far the first night!

Then I got to spend a whole bunch of time on today with two of my favourite people on the planet - my nieces Madison and Taryn. We went to Galaxyland in WEM, did some shopping and then went for a nice supper at their favourite restaurant. A great way to start my weekend!

Looking forward to getting crafty starting tomorrow. Till then, stay crafty my peeps!

YAY FOR BEING PUBLISHED AGAIN!!!

Well this has been a fun week. I am published yet again!! I got my copy of Creative Scrapbooker magazine and it turns out I am actually in the magazine THREE TIMES. How cool is that. I knew that my Selfie Fail layout would be in the magazine, but our group photo from the Croptacular back in October is in the magazine, as well as a Canadian layout I did while at Carnival. Pretty good for me I have to say.

Cover of the Spring 2018 Issue

My Carnival layout - my pal Cathy has her layout here in the magazine too.

Here is a close up of our Canadian layouts

And here is full view of the Canadian layout they used.

Here is our group photo from from the High Level Library Croptacular back in October

So exciting - my Selfie Fail layout has a quarter of the page!!!

Here is a close up in the magazine

And here is a full shot of the layout.

Have to say, pretty exciting to find myself in another magazine. And not only once but three separate times. This has been a pretty good week that is for sure. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

MY 4X4 CANVAS FOR CANVAS CORP

So the first thing Canvas Corp wanted us to do as members of the design team was create on a 4X4 canvas they provided for us an showcase our style. I wanted to do mine in a Steampunk style and I had a lot of fun playing with my new stuff. Here is what I did with it.

These are the paints I ordered and decided to use on this project.
They are the Tattered Angels High Impact Paints.

The first step was to add texture to the canvas with texture paste through a stencil. And of course I had to use a gear stencil! Steampunk all the way!!

Then since I wasn't sure the exact look I wanted and how the paint would work I did a sample piece first. I will definitely be doing something with this later.

Once I knew what  I wanted to do I did the first layer with the black paint.

The next step was adding the Antique Gold paint.

And then I added the Copper paint.

It needed a bit more colour, so I used the Turquoise spray from the
Turquoise Precious Stone Faux Finish Paint Kit.

Once the background was done, I added all the embellishments and ephemera to it. I had some chipboard tags that I coloured using more of the High Impact Paint (the Antique Gold and the Kraft), as well as the Iron spray from the Granite Precious Stone Faux Finish Paint Kit. I used brown and blue flowers along with 7 Gypsies Flea Market Findings (Charming) and 7 Gypsies Industrial Gears and 7 Gypsies Antique Black Keys.

Here are some close ups of the canvas, as well as a photo of the finished canvas.

I had a lot of fun creating this canvas. I am looking forward to doing more projects with all my Canvas Corp products. I have even ordered more! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

More goodies for me! I got another package today - my crafty pal Wendy at W2Scrapbooking. I am sooooo gonna miss her store when it closes! But in the meantime I am taking advantage of her amazing sales. Check out what I got!!

Got more goodies from my swap partners this week! Really spoiled. My pal Gena made me a fun Valentine theme tag - I am still working on hers but she is pretty patient with me! Knows I am busy at work so is fine with waiting. It is so cute, I love it!!

And then I got my Altoid tin swap items from my fab friend Cindy. They are so cute! I love them - especially the one with my name on it!!

It has been a fun week. And now I am trying to get ready for my trip to Edmonton coming up on the weekend. I should have tons of pictures from that to share! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
