Have been having fun planning the 3rd Annual Croptacular and getting happy mail so thought I would share!
First off, Jackie from Creative Scrapbooker got a chance to send me back the layout that got chosen from last year's Carnival - the superhero layout. This is it.

And she even sent me a bunch of extra goodies with the layout!  I feel so spoiled and special!! LOL

And I have been getting more prizes in all the time for the Croptacular. Check out these great prizes we got from our amazing sponsors.

These two prizes are from the great Byrd's Nest Papiere

And this one is from my fab hubby and his DJ business Maximum Music

I am hoping to get my design team project done so I can post it for tomorrow. I also have a couple journal pages I want to work on. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I got another swap done since the crop - well another part of one anyway. I am in this really cool swap - it is called a Circle Banner Swap and the idea is to make two flags for a banner but every time you get a set from the person in the swap ahead of you the flags you make have to match the style of the flags you receive. You make the first set in a style you like as those will be the ones you get back in the end - along with everyone else's take on your idea.

I sent off my first set of flags earlier in the month and on Friday I got the first set from my partner who will always be sending to me. These are the flags she created:

So I had to come up with a couple flags that were similar to hers. I loved that she choose the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime paper - as I have a TON of it!! This is what I came up with:

I even made mine slightly interactive - they both open up! I tend to think outside the box!

I am hoping she is happy with them. She has sent me the next set, so I when I get them I will have 4 flags for inspiration.

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
Took me a few days to recover from the crop, but I did get some stuff done in the last couple days, so thought I would share!

I got a chance to finish the art journal page I started at the crop. This page is from a tutorial by the AMAZING Vicky Papaioannou. I just LOVE the art journal pages she does and her tutorials on YouTube are so easy to follow. This is the tutorial for the page that I was following:

And her blog Clips-n-cuts has so many great ideas on it - and not just for journal pages. You need to check her out.

This is how her page came out

And this is how mine came out

My page of course is slightly different, as the oxides come out differently every time. And she is much better than me at taking photos!! As well, I used all 5 of the stamps as opposed to just three as I used a slightly larger journal and I just could not pick only three! But I really love the end result!

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

PMS Crop - High Level Version

So the library had our first (of many more I hope) PMS Crop - Pizza, Margaritas and Scrapbooking!! I got the idea from the great gang at Treasured Memories in Edmonton. KC (one of the owners) thought it was great I doing it up here and she even gave me a Gift Certificate for a prize. We didn't have a huge turn out, but for the summer months and with all the other stuff going on around town I think we did pretty good. We had 9 ladies show up and we really had fun. As usual, I packed way more than I needed. The good thing is that the arena is only like 5 minutes away so I could go home whenever I needed to for supplies and to take things home!

My great pal Dawn from La Crete made it out and we had to pose in the aprons that I made for everyone.

And then it was time to do some crafting. My first thing was to finish the IW journal page that I had started earlier in the week. I had an issue with the letters - the Prima letters and foil I was using didn't work the way I had hoped. I was upset to start, but then found a great pen in my bag and was able to fix it - and liked the end results even better than what the foil letters looked like. I really loved this week's lesson!!

Once I got this page done, the ladies were all telling me it was time to break out the Margaritas! How could I say no to that?! Amanda made them and everyone thought they were yummy. And a great way to spend a day!!

And then I started prepping all the ATC's that I wanted to start. I gessoed them all first, and then started adding other stuff to them.

I even used one of the baby wipes I had used to clean up the paint from the IW project as the background for a couple of the ATC's.

The only tag I finished last night was this one - all the rest had to dry so I ended up moving on to another project while they dried. I will likely do more to it, but I do like it the way it is too so we will see!

So since I had to wait for all the ATC's to dry, I moved on to another project. I had this great tutorial from Vicky P. on YouTube I wanted to try and I got it mostly done.

It was a really great way to spend the day and a really great group of ladies to spend the day with. We had so much fun and many laughs!! And I even won the prize I got from Scrappy Apple - yay me!!

So I hope you all had as fun a weekend as I did! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

STEAMPUNK CLOCK

Since yesterday was so rainy and yucky, I got quite a bit of crafting done! Not only did I work more on some journaling pages, I got another swap done! This one is a Steampunk Altered Clock swap for my Facebook group Card Making Friends. I hope she likes it. Here are some photos.

This is a close up of the inside of the clock - I actually remembered to take a photo before I put the clock back together. It is a bit easier to see than through the glass of the clock.

I hope that my partner likes it. She is going through some health issues so I am hoping that this cheers her up. I am also going to enter this in the monthly challenges on the SanDee & amelie's Steampunk Challenges blog. I also might be submitting it for publication.

I should have several more posts before the month is out - between the projects I have on the go and the PMS Crop I am going to this weekend (Pizzas, Margaritas and Scrapbooking) I will have lots to share. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Thursday 24 August 2017

My journaling mojo seems to be continuing to stick around! I got another page done that I had started a VERY long time ago! This page is week three of Donna Downey's Inspiration Wednesday 2017 class. I haven't done anything with either this class or the 2016 classes for AGES. I just got stuck on week 3 of year 2017. This is the page that Donna had done for that week - a still life of lemons.

I got the background page of red painted WAY back in April, but then every time I tried to go to the next step I just got frustrated and walked away! I don't know how many times I watched this week's video but I just could not get motivated to paint lemons - or any fruit for that matter!

So I basically decided that I was just going to do something else with the page - use some of the other techniques that I have learned both from Donna and other artists. This is the page I came up with!

I had this great picture of this girl that came with one of the Santoro products I got ages ago, and the quote is technically from Romeo and Juliet, but I like it because Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran says this quote in the video for Night Boat. The minute I saw this girls picture that is the quote that came to mind.

So not what Donna had in mind with this week's lesson, but now I feel like I can move on to the other weeks - I am actually excited to do so for the first time in ages. I even have the next couple weeks for both years prepped and ready to go. I hope to keep journaling this week and at my crop this weekend. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Wednesday 23 August 2017

I am on the Canadian Scrapbooker blog again today! I am one of the sponsors for the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival this year. Check me out on the blog!

These are the aprons that all the Embellished Scrapbookers will receive. Gonna be a great photo with a whole gang of ladies wearing these!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

ART JOURNALING

So I FINALLY got back to doing some art journaling! I have a couple that are in progress so will have to post pictures of those when done, but I did finish one that I had started AGES ago - back in April at the crop is when I started the background for it!! My inspiration for this page was one that the fabulous Cori-Lyn from Scrap Addicts did for one of her journaling classes. This is the page that she did.

I had no idea which of the Oxide colours she used, so I just made it up as I went along! This is what I ended up coming up with.

I am really happy with how it came out! I am exited to get more journaling done now that I have gotten a taste for it again. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps.

Tuesday 22 August 2017

So it was another weekend of no crafting, but of nice relaxing camping. Got it several rounds of golf, lots of walks and hanging out with my hubby and the dogs. Here are some pics from this weekends adventures!

Our dogs were our caddies while we golfed. They really love riding in golf carts. I was impressed with how well behaved they were!

And Zoey was always searching for squirrels so was always looking out the front of the cart

My favourite part was hanging by the camp fire

Of course Moose's favourite part was hanging by the campfire with me - sleeping on my feet actually.

And Zoey had to follow suit. Right after I took this pic Doug got up to feed the fire and Zoey stole his chair! He had to get himself another one as she didn't want to share anymore

Having a three day weekend was really relaxing! I am hoping to get back into my craft room this week - I have a design team project to start and I have to start packing for the PMS Crop I am hosting this weekend (Pizza, Margaritas and Scrapbooking!) So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Friday 18 August 2017

Woohoo! Got more goodies yesterday - including the latest Tim Holtz Distsress Oxides I was waiting for! Check out my latest shopping spree:

And I couldn't resist playing with the oxides as soon as I opened them. I have a journal page I wanted to use them on that also calls for some tags so I experimented with the colours on the tags I plan on using. I love how they turned out.

The new set of 12  colours

Some close ups

The set of tags

Once I get a chance to finish the journal page I will post pictures. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps.

Thursday 17 August 2017

Got more AWESOME goodies in the mail yesterday - shopping with my pal Wendy from W2Scrapbooking is always so great! Check out my goodies!

And I even played with the Waterbrush pens last night to see what they were like. So far I like them - gonna take a bit to get used to them though and get better at them. But I think for a first try it isn't bad.

Artco Waterbrush pens with ink in them - I got the set with Magenta, Purple and Light Blue

And this is my attempt at using them. Gonna add these to a journal page I think!

I am expecting some more goodies today - the newest Tim Holtz Oxides!! Can't wait to play with those!!! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

STEAMPUNK TOP HAT

So I FINALLY finished the Steampunk Top hat I have been working on. I think this is one of my favourite projects so far. I thought as well as showing it to you here, I would add a link to this post to the fantastic Claudia's blog SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenges. Here are some pictures of the finished top hat.

As I said in my first post about the project, I got the inspiration from a great gal I found on Pinterest - Rikka Kovasin and her site Paperiliitin. I found this great project she did on Pinterest and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to do something like it for the top hat. I of course did some changing up to make it my own. And it is actually pretty heavy in the end - likely because of the bathroom tiles I used on the hat band portion of the hat. Check out the inspiration piece Rikka did and make sure you check out her blog!

I hope you like my project - and Rikka's too! Until next time, stay crafty my peeps!
