As I said in my previous post, I did get some time to play while I was in my craft room packing. I got the next set of flags done for the Circle Banner Swap I am in. These are the two sets of flags that the person sending to me sent that I had to try and emulate.

So this is the first set that the first girl sent out.

Then these are the set that the next girl "copied" and sent out.

And then these next two are what I came up with to match the styles they did.

This swap is kinda fun - it is neat to see what other people do and what you can come up with when you are trying to do something similar.

I also got a chance to finish a canvas that I had started at my PMS Crop last month. I did the canvas background using the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks. As I was deciding what photos to take to work on at Carnival my husband and I had a disagreement over which picture of Octavia we liked better. So I am taking the one I liked better to Carnival to use on a layout. And the picture my husband liked better ended up on the canvas. This is the end result.

So I was able to play while I packed! Until next time, stay crafty my peeps!

So I think this is gonna be a crazy week - getting ready to go to the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Calgary on the weekend. But I think I am ready to go. This is the beginning of my packing - I did get it all done and I am actually not bringing that much stuff!! I am learning to downsize - lol!!

I also not only got a chance to play in my craft room while I was packing, I got the goodie bags for the library crop in October started. They are looking good so far!!

This is gonna be a fun week! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Haven't gotten down to my craft room much this week - spending a bunch of time hanging with friends and getting in a whole lot of walks with my pals!

One thing that I did get finished though was a kit that I got from the FAB Tricia Ladacouer - of course I got it AGES ago (as in over a year or more ago) and only just this week managed to finish it. I started it last year at the Grimshaw crop and finished everything but the last tag set. I finally got a chance to finish it this week. Here are the pics.

This first tag actually opens up. It is so cute!

The next tag I ended up doing slightly differently than the instructions called for - mostly because I used too much of the paper that was initially called for in the kit. But I am happy with the end result. The top tag was supposed to fit inside this tag, but again I made a bit of a boo boo so had to come up with another option. Luckily the kit had a tag in it that I could use so along with the extras I was able to finish this tag to go inside the tag I made.

This weekend I am hoping to get a bunch more crafting done, so till next time stay crafty my peeps!

More happy mail for me! I got in another order from one of my fab crafty pals - along with a very cool donation for my October crop. Check out my goodies!

And here is a picture of the prize pack!

I am hoping to finish the two tags that I showed at the end of the video after work today, so will post about them later. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

So as I said earlier, I didn't get a whole lot of crafting in this weekend - it was our last camping trip for the year. We went to Hay River - our favourite spot - and spent the weekend hanging out with friends! We had a really great time - check out some pictures of our adventures!

Moose looks so majestic/serious. Too bad he doesn't sit this still the whole time. If he did we would let him ride in the front seat more often!

This was night one - at Duncan and Michelle's camper.

I just loved how these mushrooms looked on the log.
I took a pic cause I have to scrapbook this!

Duncan, Michelle and Phoebe at the Falls

I just love Escarpment Creek Falls - so pretty and quiet cause no one knows it is there!

I think this is a pretty good family photo!

Another shot of the falls

And the dogs were having a blast

Doug was NOT impressed that I took this picture! Moose on the other hand was loving life!

Took the dogs for several walks on the weekend - including this one in the rain. They didn't seem to mind too much being soggy!

And they were VERY  quiet on the rid home - I think we wore them out!!

I did do a bit of crafting when I got home, so will post those pics later. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I just LOVE being a donator/sponsor for events! I just love soaking up the attention! LOL!! Check out the cool peeps wearing the aprons I donated to the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival. These gals are at the Edmonton show.

I am really stoked about attending the Calgary show with my bestie Cathy in two weeks! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
So I got MORE happy mail yesterday - my latest goodies from Scraps of Elegance/Darkness. Take a look at what I got!

I love the planner, but since it isn't really my thing I think I am going to end up donating it as a prize to my October crop. And Melinda gave me a fab prize for the crop as well.

And I did a bit more on the journal page that I was working on - this is it in progress.

So I hope you all have a crafty weekend - I will be camping, probably for the last time this year! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Hopefully I will get to play with more of it soon! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

So I did not spend a lot of time this weekend art journaling - I mostly just had a lazy weekend with my husband!

But I did get a couple pages done. I got another couple weeks of Donna Downey's Inspiration Wednesday classes done. I did one from 2016 and one from 2017. I am really happy with how they came out.

The first one I finished is this one that is week 10 of IW2016. Donna had said to use whatever paper or material you had and I remembered I had this steampunk paper that I have not used very much. The set also came wit the funky gears and tag so was able to use them too. The "stamps" are from some other papers and sets I had. I love the end result!

And this is week 4 of IW2017. This was another "lemon" week that I wasn't really feeling. So I did what I liked from the lesson and tweeked it to be my own style. I quite like the end result.

So I am hoping that I can get some more crafting time in. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Friday, 1 September 2017

I have been getting back to my art journaling lately, and was able to finish another page last night. I started the background ages ago and liked the technique I used on my design team project that I decided to do the same technique on this page. At least the base of it anyway! I used different sprays on top of it but I loved the look of the heavy white gesso over the black gesso. Very happy with how the page came out.

Hoping to get some more art journaling done this weekend - I even started the next week of my Inspiration Wednesday 2017 class. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Happy September!!

Hello all! Wanted to share with you my Design Team Project for Mixed Media Mojo Challenges. The theme for September was School Fun with the twist of books. I decided to alter one of the Alterable Paper Mache books that I got from my fab pal Wendy at W2Scrapbooking. I got the idea for part of the project from a cool video I saw on YouTube.

I will be doing a more in-depth post on this project later in the month - with more details on how I made it and a link to the video. But in the meantime, here are some photos of the project.

I hope you like my take on the September project. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Have been having fun planning the 3rd Annual Croptacular and getting happy mail so thought I would share!
First off, Jackie from Creative Scrapbooker got a chance to send me back the layout that got chosen from last year's Carnival - the superhero layout. This is it.

And she even sent me a bunch of extra goodies with the layout!  I feel so spoiled and special!! LOL

And I have been getting more prizes in all the time for the Croptacular. Check out these great prizes we got from our amazing sponsors.

These two prizes are from the great Byrd's Nest Papiere

And this one is from my fab hubby and his DJ business Maximum Music

I am hoping to get my design team project done so I can post it for tomorrow. I also have a couple journal pages I want to work on. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I got another swap done since the crop - well another part of one anyway. I am in this really cool swap - it is called a Circle Banner Swap and the idea is to make two flags for a banner but every time you get a set from the person in the swap ahead of you the flags you make have to match the style of the flags you receive. You make the first set in a style you like as those will be the ones you get back in the end - along with everyone else's take on your idea.

I sent off my first set of flags earlier in the month and on Friday I got the first set from my partner who will always be sending to me. These are the flags she created:

So I had to come up with a couple flags that were similar to hers. I loved that she choose the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime paper - as I have a TON of it!! This is what I came up with:

I even made mine slightly interactive - they both open up! I tend to think outside the box!

I am hoping she is happy with them. She has sent me the next set, so I when I get them I will have 4 flags for inspiration.

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
