MY RETURN TO ART JOURNALING!!

So I FINALLY got back to do some art journaling. It was fun. I forgot how much I missed it until I started playing with my journals.

Here are some in progress photos

And a close up of one of the pages

Added some more colour

And here are the finished pages

Had a lot of fun with these pages. Now to hope that I can get back to more crafting in the new year! I hope you all had as fun a year as I had.
So till NEXT YEAR - STAY CRAFTY MY PEEPS!!!

Friday 29 December 2017

So as I said before, I haven't spent a lot of time crafting this month. Since the month/year is just about over I figured I should get at least some stuff done. I FINALLY got around to doing my own paint pouring canvas.  I am pretty happy with how it came out!! I had a LOT of fun getting messy.

I didn't wear gloves so got super messy!!

This was the result when I finished the pour.

And it started changing right away.

And it changed even more just after an hour or two!

I think this might be my favourite part of the pour - one of my friends
said it looked like a nebula.

Here are some photos of the canvas once it dried.

And here is the full canvas.

And then of course this is where I hung it up in the house.

All in all a very successful painting experiment. I am also hoping to get back to doing some art journaling, so stay tuned! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Monday 18 December 2017

So I got some Christmas gifts done this weekend. The first I finished was for our pals Michelle and Duncan. I realized on one of our visits to their house that a lot of their Christmas decorations were snowmen so I made them a funky snowman! Here are some pictures.

I finished some other stuff too, so will post more pictures later. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Saturday 16 December 2017

As I said in my last post, I got my swaps done. This is what I made for my Secret Santa swap. My partner was all the way in Sweden! I am hoping she gets it in time for Christmas. We had to mag a loaded bag, along with a Christmas Card and a Christmas Ornament. I also had an extra stocking at the store so I embroidered that for her too! Here are some pics of what I sent her.

This was a fun swap. I am still waiting to see what I got from my partner! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Friday 15 December 2017

So obviously my December 2017 has not been as creative as I have been in years past! I haven't had a lot of time to get down to my craft room. But I am trying to prep for my new adventure on the Canvas Corp Brand Design team! I had birthday money to spend, so thought I would get some goodies they sell to start me off. I am waiting on my first batch of goodies I ordered from them, but in the meantime check out what I got with my birthday present from my pal Michelle!

There was supposed to be a crop this weekend at the library, but we didn't have enough people so we cancelled. Instead I am gonna craft at home! I am caught up on my sways but I have some Xmas gifts  I want to finish! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

DECEMBER DESIGN TEAM  PROJECT

So this is my December Design Team Project for Mixed Media Mojo Challenges.  The theme this month was Winter/Fun with the twist of Snowmen. I ended up being stupid busy and had so much going on that I really didn't quite stick to the theme.  I was asked to do something for a fundraiser that is coming up this weekend and the friend who asked wanted a Christmas theme. So I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. Here's hoping the winner of the raffle likes it!

I started out with a wooden frame that already had a cord for hanging it up. I liked the weathered look of the frame and thought it would work well for the project.

Then I added some fun Christmas paper that I had - I think this is one of the Bo Bunny
Christmas lines.

Then I added some "snow"

And I had to do some snowflakes too.

The final touches were adding some text and other ephemera.

This is a close up of the project, along with the finished project.

This is also going to be my last design team post or the Mixed Media Mojo blog. They have been great , and really supportive, but I am finding I just have the time for it - especially with getting on the Canvas Corp Brands Design team. It has been great exposure for me and I am sure helped me get onto this newest design team.

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Tuesday 28 November 2017

So I got my first "pay cheque" for scrapbooking! LOL

No as my hubby would say, I need several thousand more of these to make it break even!

CHRISTMAS CARD CLASS - TAKE TWO

So I did my second card class - this time at the High Level museum. Ended up with almost as many people - including some youngsters. I decided to do some slightly different cards for a few of them as the ones I did in Rainbow Lake were a bit more time consuming that I had thought they would be. But everyone seemed to love it and I have already been asked to do another one early in the new year.

Check out the different cards we did - some were the same as the ones I taught in Rainbow and others were new ones (ideas I got from Pinterest).

And I had some fun students - of all ages!!

It was a lot of fun and  am looking forward to doing it in the future.
So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Friday 24 November 2017

As I said in an earlier post, I did not get a lot of chances to scrapbook this week, but I did get down to make one thing. My pal Jeanine had a birthday this week so I had to make her a  gift! I used one of the canvases I did in my paint pouring class as the background. She was pretty happy with it. Well then again, so was I!

This weekend I have to prep for my next card class, as well as make something for a raffle for an upcoming event. And my hubby is having a birthday party for me.

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

STEAMPUNK SUGAR SKULL

One of the other advantages of Paula coming up to visit is that she also brought back Jorge for me! Now who is Jorge you might ask? Well back in October, Treasured Memories (one of my favourite stores - check out the link below to their store) had a contest that I participated in. They had 8 Styrofoam skulls that you could enter for a chance to decorate and then the winner would get a $100 Gift Certificate for the store. I didn't win, but I did have a great time decorating the skull and now I have a wicked  sugar skull to show for it. Check out some photos.

And I love this project so much I am not only submitting it to Just Steampunk magazine, I am entering it on a great blog - SanDee & amelie's Steampunk Challenges. Make sure you check them out - they are awesome!!!

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
