So I get to end the month (and summer) with a happy mail post! I got my amazing ATC's from my other swap partner Toni. They are so cool - they open up! And she sent me a fantastic card, along with some other goodies. Check it out!

I just love swapping in these different groups - the talent out there is so fantastic!!

So now that summer is coming to an end, so will camping weekends. And what does that mean? MORE CRAFTING!! I have a bunch of crops and other stuff coming up, so should be doing lots of posting in the coming months. I have swaps to do, design team projects to submit, and lots of crafting events on the horizon. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Got more goodies in the mail yesterday. It was kinda bittersweet too, as it was a package from my crafty pal Wendy and her store W2Scrapbooking. I am very sad that she is closing. But on the upside, she has some SWEET deals on at the moment. So I took advantage of that! got some great stuff.

I can't wait to play with all these goodies. I also bought a set of pens for my niece since she is an amazing artist. I am looking forward to seeing what she makes with them. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

PEACE RIVER TRIATHLON 2018

So, didn't do any real crafting this weekend, but I did make a BUNCH of memories that I will be able to scrapbook soon, as my hubby and I (along with a friend) competed in our first Triathlon. We did really well and had a blast. I actually can't wait to do it again. Check out some of the pictures and videos from the event!

The night before we got to go pick up our swag - luckily the shirt
still fit me, even though it was only a large!

Triathlon Day! Started the day by getting our numbers

And our little team getting excited to get started!!

Then it was time to go - gotta get in the pool!!

And I got some videos too!

This is Doug and Amanda transitioning from the bike to the run!

And this is Doug crossing the finish line for our team!!

WE DID IT!! We finished and got these cool finishing medals!

And this is our final time and the breakdown - my swim was pretty much the same as always!

And we ended up with GOLD in our category! Now this was mainly because there were only two teams in our category, so technically we came in second. But since the medals are based on age category and there was such a wide range of ages on both teams, they gave us all gold medals!!

It was so much fun, and like I said - I have a TON of great material for scrapbooking now. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

ATC Fun

As I said yesterday, I was able to get some of the swaps I was working on finished this week. I hope my partners like them.

First I finished the swaps for the ATC Fairly Wonderful Swap that I was in. I loved the ones I got from Annette so hope she likes the ones I am sending to her.

I also finished the ATC's for the Fairy swap at ReneaBouquets that I signed up for. I am still waiting on mine from my partner, but I should have them soon as she did mail them. These are what I came up with for her.

I had a lot of fun with these - here's hoping my partners like them as much as I had fun making them! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Friday 24 August 2018

I got some GREAT happy mail yesterday! I got swaps from two different partners, and they are AMAZING!!

The first is a cigar box from a swap earlier in the year. My partner had some life issues that got in the way so she had told me she would be late, but it was definitely worth the wait!! I just LOVE what she made for me. Take a peak.

I really love the Steampunk vibe she went with. It was definitely worth waiting as long as I did to get the swap. Just gorgeous!!

The next package I got from another swap I am in. It was called the ATC Fairy Wonderful Swap and my partner did a great job with the ATC's. She also sent me some great extras!

As well as getting my great swaps I was able to finish a couple of mine. I will post as soon as I get some good pictures. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

CANVAS CORP CREATIVE CREW - ACCORDION ALBUM

So I am up again today on the Canvas Corp Blog with my latest project for the Canvas Corp Brand Creative Crew. I have been super busy at work and wanted to do a project that would be fast and easy since I didn't want to fall any more behind! I always find that I have lots of scraps of different materials left over when I make my projects, not to mention some left over 7 Gypsies paper. I know many crafters are like me and just don't want to waste any supplies. I wanted to find a fun and easy way to use these supplies that would inspire others to use their leftovers. This is the quick project I came up with to show how to do just that - using the supplies I had on hand.

I started off rounding the edges of all the card stock pieces I wanted to use so they would look like tags. And to add to the vintage look I was going for I inked all the edges.

The next step was to attach all the pieces together. I used Kraftex Paper for my binding. This is a type of paper that looks, feels and wears like leather, but sews, cuts and even washes like fabric. It is great for binding because it is so flexible. You can also use Tyvek envelopes (which you can get at any office supply store. They work in much the same way and are often easier to find! I cut pieces 2 inches wide by 5 inches tall, then folded them all in half. After that I simply attached them to each tag using Score Tape.

Once the tags were all attached I wanted to make sure the album would stay closed. I placed magnets on the front and back pages on both sides of the tags, then covered them with paper.

I made two little bands to use to close the album, attaching the corresponding magnets to the small slips of the cream card stock and covering them with more pattered paper as well. I also added paper clips to them on each side to keep them together.

The final step for the album was to cover the rest of the pages with the patterned paper. The album is now ready to add photos to it. Here are some photos of the whole project.

I hope you like the project, and it can inspire you to find a fun, creative way to use up your scraps and leftovers. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

NOTE: Here is a list of the supplies I used on this project

Cream coloured heavy card stock
Kraftex Paper (kraft colour)
7 Gypsies Maritime Collection 12X12 paper
Magnets
Square paper Clips
Archival Ink - Sepia Brown

Wednesday 22 August 2018

Got more happy mail yesterday, not to mention got into my craft room to do some actual crafting! LOL. When on Facebook awhile ago, I saw a post on one of the craft sites I follow. It was Ranger, one of my favourite companies, and they were selling Mystery Boxes. I had seen these a few times, but normally by the time I saw them they were sold out. This time I was lucky enough to get one. It is all older products, but since Ranger is one of my favourite lines I knew there would be stuff in there I would want. And I was right! Check out my goodies:

I can't wait to play with it all! And as I said, I also did some actual crafting last night! I have a couple swaps I am signed up for, so got to work on the ATC's I have to make for them. Here are some in progress shots.

I will post photos as I get these done. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

ALTERED LETTER CLASS IN RAINBOW LAKE

Well my class in Rainbow Lake teaching the altered letter was a great success! Everyone really loved it - and I love how even though I showed everyone the same techniques, they all turned out different! Here are some pictures from the day.

They were all great students - and all had a great time. Really easy to teach!!!

Here are some pictures of everyone's letters

I even had a couple eager beavers that got as messy as I usually do!!

And here is a shot of the whole group

It was a really great day - and they already want me out for another class. So I have to get working on some ideas! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!
