So, all my heat press decals that I have to do in the next week are still not in - bad news work wise as it means I will be working a LOT of extra hours once they arrive. But good news crafting wise as I had more time to do more art journaling last night.

I finished another week of IW2016 - I am on a roll now! I had fun with this page. I realized when I went to find some craft paper that my crafty pal Candy Rosenberg had sent me a roll of player piano paper that was the exact colour that I wanted. It worked out great. I really love this page!

And then I finished off a couple more pages for the ArtMarks 30 Day Challenge. I finished up Day 28 and Day 25, as well as starting on the remaining days. I REALLY LOVE how the painterly one turned out - I think it might be one of my favs!!

Day 28 - Painterly

Day 25 - close up

Day 25 - Hidden

I even did a short video for the Hidden one -
I wanted a hidden or secret compartment for it!

So, I am not sure when I will get back to my craft room - though I might get some stuff done today as I am still waiting on stuff for work. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you all had a fun, crafty weekend. Even though I had to spend a bunch of my weekend working, I did get to have some crafty fun. I got some projects on the go, and I did more journaling.

FINALLY got the first of Inspiration Wednesday 2017 done - as I said before I think I will be working on both years at the same time until I get caught up!  I really liked how week one came out.

I also have a bunch more of the ArtMarks 30 day challenge pages on the go. I know the idea behind them was to work on them each day in one sitting, but I like taking my time and getting them the way I want. I have Day 25 and 28 in progress and 27 I am still pondering. But here is one I did get done! LOL. The prompt was Singular, so I just used several shades of one colour. Pretty happy with how it came out -simple but pretty!

Day 26 - Singular

I did also get a couple of the swaps I am in started - so will post pic when they are done. I should also have more challenge pages to post soon too. Have to get in all the crafting I can in the next couple days before things go nuts at work. I am waiting for decals to arrive so I can heat press over 1800 t-shirts!

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Friday, 10 February 2017

I am really enjoying all the journaling I have been able to do lately. I am so glad to have gotten back to my Inspiration Wednesday classes - I am still on 2016 but I am still just loving them. I got week 6 done. I used different colours than Donna and I didn't have word versions of the adhesive rub ons but I did have other versions so used them. Totally in love with this page!!

Looking forward to starting next weeks this weekend - and maybe even finishing week one of IW2017! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I definitely have the journaling bug these days! I have really been enjoying the ArtMarks 30 Day Challenge that Rae Missigman has on her blog. It has been fun some days doing more detailed pages and then on others to just wing it and do whatever comes to mind while I am sitting at my craft desk. Here are some more days that I have done.

Day 22 - Relective

Day 23 - Simple

Day 24 - Primary

I had a lot of fun with all of these pages - I have had a couple busy days so am a bit behind, but I plan on getting back to it as soon as I can. If you haven't tried it yet, check out Rae Missigam's blog and join in the fun. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I got the BEST surprise when I went to get my mail yesterday - I HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED AGAIN!!!!

I submitted a couple of my canvases to Just Mixed Media magazine and I didn't get any kind of confirmation that they were going to put them in the magazine. So imagine my surprise when I picked up my mail yesterday and found my complimentary issue inside! And they published both pieces I submitted. I was so excited. Here is a picture of the layout in the magazine.

And here are some close ups of the projects themselves

Definitely a sweet surprise to have my work recognized again. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

On the Wings of Love Design Team Project

I am back for my second month as a Design Team member of this great blog Mixed Media Mojo. This month's theme was love with the twist of wings and with both the projects I did I made them not only for this team but also as a swap for a friend. I wasn't able to do as much as I wanted for a tutorial but I will give you a run down on how I did the project!

I started with a paper mache dress form from Joann's craft store. The friend I made it for had wanted to attend the dress form class I did back in October but was not able to so I thought I would make her one instead.

The next step was to cover the form in tissue paper. I used a couple of Tim Holtz styles of tissue, just to give it some extra texture and some basic designs. As well as the tissue, I added some texture sand in a couple places to give it even more texture.

The next step was to paint - this is the step that I didn't take enough pictures of and is a little hard to explain what I did. I basically just painted and sprayed it until I got the colours that I wanted. I used a copper paint by Dina Wakely, some dark blue paint and some red paint - all colours that I was also using on some journaling I was doing at the same time. After the paint was dry I sprayed the entire dress form with Tim Holtz Mica Spray in Anitqued Bronze to give it some shimmer. At the same time I was painting, I also wanted to create the two heart pieces that I put on the project. I did this by filling the hearts with various ephemera and then adding glossy accents to seal them into the hearts.

The final touches were to add the hearts and the wings to the dress form, as well as all the other flowers and miscellaneous knick knacks that I wanted to add to get the look I wanted. Here are some close ups of the dress form, as well as full front and back pictures.

I hope my friend I am giving this too likes it as much as I had fun making it. And make sure you check out the blog and participate in the February Challenge - you could win a great prize this month!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Sunday, 5 February 2017

Hope everyone had as crafty a weekend as I did! I have been doing a whole lot more art journaling - thanks to the ArtMarks 30 Day Challenge - and I finished my design team project that is going to go live tomorrow. Here are some pictures for you!

As I said, I finished my design team project for the Mixed Media Mojo blog. I don't want to post full pictures as I don't want to spoil tomorrow's post, but here is a sneak peak.

I am also killing two birds with one stone - I am giving this to a friend for an altered item swap we are in together. I hope she likes it - I loved making it.

I also got a bunch more pages done for the ArtMarks 30 Day Challenge. I am enjoying most of the prompts - though some have given me a bit of trouble. Of course, when I can't figure out what to do I pretty much just play till I am happy with the end result. Here are the days I got done this weekend!

Day 18 - Circular

Day 19 - Hashed

Day 20 - Suspended

Day 21 - Bold

Day 20 and Day 21 are two of my favourite days so far. When I first saw the prompt suspended, my first thought was Suspend Belief. So after seeing a couple other ideas I came up with my page. My husband even thought it was clever! LOL. And then for bold, the prompt made me think of the quote I used - I have been wanting to use it in a journal for a while. Finally I was able to!

Tomorrow I will be doing my blog post on my design team project, so I hope you will come back and check it out. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
