ColourArte Design Team Application

This is the project I did for my application to the Colour Arte design team.  I used several of their products - the Silks Acrylic Glazes, the Radiant Rain Shimmering Mists and the Twinkling H2O's. Make sure you check out their website and blog for more information on their great products!

For my project I made a Fairy Lantern.  I decided to call it that after one of my girlfriend's showed it to her daughter and her daughter's said "that looks like where a fairy would live."  I started with a Kaisercraft Beyond the Page lantern and then used several different ColourArte products to create the look I wanted.  Here is a video tutorial of the project:

I also wrote out step by step instructions on what I did to create the project.

So here are pictures of the final project. I had a lot of fun making it and I am really happy with the end result. Now to go find some fairies and see if they want to live in it!

I appreciate you taking the time to consider my application and I look forward to creating more with your products in the future.

Tuesday 29 March 2016

I had a really nice Easter weekend and although I had to go into work for a bit on Easter Monday, I did get some other crafting done as well.

I finished off a couple sets of ATC's - one for my swap partner Jenny and one for Sarah, who I thought was my swap partner but I even though I was wrong we decided to swap anyway!

Here are Jenny's:

And here are Sarah's:

Then I finished doing the second quarter of my Not So Secret Sister swap.  I had to do April, May and June. For April I made Angela this fancy frame for photos and for May I made her a tag:

I then threw on a bunch more goodies for her for June and to go with April and May. I hope she likes it all.

And then I finished a canvas - I am going to give it to my friend Cathy as part of her B-day gift - it didn't turn out quite how I thought but she said she liked it so it is now hers!

I also finished another project, but it is part of design team application I am doing so I will be posting all about it on Thursday.

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Monday 28 March 2016

I had some fun this Easter - got to hang out with some of my favourite crafty people! Spent the day with my girls and got a couple layouts done. These are page kits from the awesome Monday Night Class. Check them out if you haven't already!

I also did some more work on a design team application project, but I will save the pictures of that for the blog about the project.

I got more happy mail yesterday - I think this is the last (at least for now!) of the goodies I bought.

I found a great place for chipboard embellishments called Creative Embellishments. I saw them on Facebook on a project someone had done and I loved what I saw.  I can't wait to use them in my projects!!

Check them out! Creative Embellishements

Going to the post office is so much fun - mostly cause I shop so much! But I really love getting mail from my scrappy pals.

I ordered from the amazing Renea Harrison and her awesome shop Renea Bouquets and I had to do a video when I opened it.

She is so sweet - not only did she include a really sweet note to me she sent me some of her AMAZING butterflies and dragonflies for free!! Totally made my night!!!!

If you want great products and fabulous service, go to her shop - she ROCKS!!!

Got some more crafting done this weekend!

I finished off a swap - you had to alter a CD in Steampunk Style. Obviously right up my alley! I did the CD up and then I decided to also decorate the CD case to put her card in. I hope my partner likes it.

I also did some work on a canvas, experimenting with some of my paints and stuff. Not sure I like it yet but I will keep playing with it!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Sunday 20 March 2016

Finished up some art journaling this week. A couple were from a fabulous class and the other was inspired by something I saw online.

So first off, I was able to do an online class with Cori-Lynn from Scrap Addicts cause she is now videoing her journal classes - so  don't have to travel 9 hours to take them!

This is a close-up of one section

This is the whole page

And this is the quick second page she taught

If you want to take her great classes just give them a shout at the store!

Then I was inspired by a page I saw online - and I wanted to use my new Tim Holtz Distress Crayons. I like how it worked out.

I did more crafting this weekend so will have more photos to show later. Till then, stay crafty my peeps!

Tuesday 15 March 2016

Got some crafting in last night! Had to de-stress a little as work has been just nuts!!

I finished off a swap. Did two doll tags for my partner in the Doll Tag Swap with Scraps of Elegance and Darkness. I had them started for another swap but my partner never contacted me so I was more than half done for this swap!!

Then I finished off one of the journal pages that I has started - when trying to use up extra paint from another project. I used my new IrRESISTibles Pico Embellishers in the neon colours that I got from Treasured Memories. They are SOOOOO fun!!!

Well till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Graphic 45 Design Team Audition 2016

Here are the projects that I would like to showcase for my audition to become a member of the Graphic 45 Design Team

The first is one of my first major projects that I did with Graphic 45. It is a Steampunk Wishing Well. I used the Steampunk Spells paper. I made a lot of the flowers myself from he paper. I also made the Spell Book out of the paper pack. It is one of my favorite projects.

Next, I made this Graphic 45 Staples Book Box for a swap partner.  I used the Artisan Style paper because my partner said she loved peacocks and this paper was perfect for it! I made matching tags for it as well as a tag on the inside as well, so my partner could use it for photos if she wanted.

My third project is a junk journal that I also did for a swap. I knew my partner liked Steampunk and even though I normally don't keep all my scrap papers, I do with my Graphic 45 papers. Especially both the Steampunk lines!!  So I made her a journal using the Steampunk Debutante line.

I even made a video so I could show the whole book - since it was difficult to take pictures of the whole book.

For my tutorial, I made a Steampunk dress form - its my favorite style and I was so inspired by everything I see, especially everything Graphic 45.  I took pictures of the entire process and this is my video tutorial.

I really appreciate you taking the time to look at my work and I would be honored to be a part of the Graphic 45 design team.

Saturday 12 March 2016

I just love getting the mail lately! I know a lot of it is because I have been doing a fair amount of shopping with my favourite shops, but I have also got other happy mail. Gifts from friend and swaps too.

I just got a great bunch of stuff from some great stores and a great friend.

My pal Cathy got me some fun goodies from Michael's - Tim Holtz kits and a stamp set!

And then I got some great happy mail from a couple of great stores I frequent on a regular basis:

You really need to check them out! Great customer service and fast delivery

So now I gotta go play with all my new stuff!! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Thursday 10 March 2016

I finished the Steampunk Dress Form I was working on!! I am in the process of trying to figure out how to do a video tutorial for it, but in the meantime, here are some close ups of it, along with full view photos. I LOVE how it came out!

I will put the video tutorial up as soon as I can.  Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
