Crafty Weekend

So I pretty much spent the entire weekend in my craft room, but I don't have a lot of photos to show for it, as I didn't get the album I was working on finished. I got a lot done, but still have a bit to go. But I can show some of what I have done so far. For a base I used a 49 and Market album I had along with paper from the Farmhouse Christmas line from Carta Bella. First thing I had to do was put paper on all the pages, so I did a little video to show that part.

Once I had that done, I started on the different pages. For the cover I decided to use my new Santa Colourize die, and I even made it into a puffy sticker by cutting it using the Sizzix Foam sheets I just got in. I love how he came out.

Like I said, I worked on it all weekend, but didn't take many photos as I am not done yet. But here are some in progress pictures.

I am hoping to get it done if not tonight then soon after. And I got some happy mail I can share later too. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Perfect Winter Crop

I was able to get down to my craft room last night and I got the two layouts done from the layout classes they offered at the Perfect Winter Crop I attended on the weekend. I didn't do them exactly like they showed in the classes - I more used them as inspiration and made them my own. But I am very happy with how they came out and I loved the inspiration that the classes/crop offered.

I have a swap to finish off this weekend, so I will hopefully have more stuff to share after the weekend. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps.

NEW CAR - Happy Birthday to me!

So haven't done much crafting this week, though my girlfriends and I plan to craft and zoom tonight, as that is what I wanted to do for my birthday. But I had to share my best birthday present, even though it isn't craft related. I got a NEW CAR. I suppose it isn't necessarily a birthday gift as it was mostly just a coincidence that I got it just in time for my birthday, but what the heck! Gotta spoil myself sometimes since I work pretty darn hard!

Not sure what I might get done tonight when crafting, but my plan is to spend the majority of the weekend in my craft room so should have more to post after that. so till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Almost forgot to post the goodies I got in the mail yesterday. The new Tim Holtz Dirstress colour arrived and I cannot wait to play with it. And all the other goodies too!!

Not sure if I will get down to my craft room to play today, but I do hope to tomorrow and zoom chat with my crafty pals for my birthday. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Perfect Winter Crop

So I spent yesterday doing stuff for the OTHER crop that I signed up for this weekend. Since it was not a live Zoom crop but just a Facebook crop, I was able to follow along during the day yesterday and can do the same today. And the classes were recorded so I could go back and watch them later to do the projects. But before I started the classes I wanted to do a technique that I saw on the Tim Holtz Addicts group that I follow on Facebook. It uses an embossing folder that I already own so wanted to try it. I didn't have the ink that the person used, so instead I used one of my distress inks. I love how it came out.

Of course I HAD to order the ink she used so will likely be making more cards like this when those arrive! Once I hade this card done I moved on to the first class from Saturday in the Perfect Winter crop. It was to make some cards - regular and slimline cards. I ended up making three cards all together and I love how they came out. Super cute and really easy to do. I am sure I will make more - especially since I have lots of small pieces of paper left over which work perfectly for this style of card.

Next up I did the first class from Sunday, which was to make a gift card holder and a cute hot chocolate gift tag. I made the hot chocolate one to give to my employee and I am going to use the gift card holder for the Christmas gift I have planned for my ex-daughter-in-law. They are super cute and were really easy to make. If it wasn't for COVID I would have made more of the hot chocolate ones for my granson to give to his kindergarten class.

By this time it was pretty late and even though I thought I could do more I just didn't have the energy. The other two classes were both layout classes. I decided to figure out my pictures for them and the papers I was going to use, but that is as far as I got.

I plan to finish both layouts this week, so stay tuned for photos. Till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

Snow Days TM Crop - Day Two

Well I got TONS more done yesterday for the TM crop. The inspriation they provide, along with being able to virtually crafty with all my peeps is really so great. I feel very accomplished I have to say.

The first challenge was to do something sparkly, so I worked on some chipboard Christmas stockings that I am going to use on a Christmas mini album I am hoping to get done for a swap. I love how they came out, though it was not exactly how I had planned them.

Next up was the first make n take of the day. It was a super cute layout that I ended up putting a picture of my dog Zoey onto. I think it turned out great and it was really easy too.

After that I worked on the next challenge, which was to feature something blue. I used the great paper they gave us in the kit, along with some more of the die cuts we also got in the kit. I of course used an adorable photo of my grandson, which always helps me be creative!

The first demo of the day was the next project, and this one was something that Chantel said a customer inspired her to show us. It is a really easy ornament that you just make out of paper. I might have to make more of them.

I decided that I wanted to make the rest of the challenges for the day so I did the last three all back to back.

Using Only Paper Challenge

Cutesy Challenge
Round/Curve Challenge

Once these cards were done it was time for the second make n take of the day. This one was a really cute shaker card. I had some issues with it, but I got it done!

Since I was a keener and got all the challenges done I figured I would find a way to use the rest of the die cuts we got in our goodie bag. So I made some cards.

The last demo of the day was another customer inspired project - a really cute layout that just involved folding paper. It took me a bit to figure it out, but I got it done. And I used it for another page for my nieces grad album. I really love how it came out.

All in all it was another great crop with Treasured Memories. I didn't do much with the Perfect Winter crop that I was also signed up for, but it runs today too. So my plan for today - once I get my grandkids sent home - is to work more on the projects for that crop. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

SNOW DAYS Treasured Memories Crop - Day one

Got a LOT done yesterday for day one of the Treasured Memories crop - I always have so much fun at these crops. I started off by finishing off the two tags that I started during the week.  I said I would save the photos for the start of the tags till a later post so here they are.

I started off colouring the trees using the Tim Holtz
ombre technique he showed last week.

Then for the other tag I used some winter paper and a snowflake stencil
with glitter paste for the background.

This is what I created for the Christmas tag - though I thought it needed something else.

So I finished it off with a bit of bling!

After that I finished the winter tag. I used it for the first challenge of the crop,
which was to make something winter themed.

Next up I did the first make n take - this adorable litle get well kleenex holder.

Then I did the last challenge of the night, which was to do something with journaling on it. I decided to make a card using one of the die cuts we got in our goodie bag to send along with the tags I made as hey were for a swap. I like how it came out!

All in all a successful first night. Now I am on to day two of the TM crop. AND I am participating in another online crop. I didn't remember until this morning that the people running that crop are in Ontario, so it started while I was still sleeping! LOL. But I am going to follow along on the Facebook group and do what I can. It goes tomorrow too so I can catch up on that crop then. So now I am off to do more crafting. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps.

SO MUCH Happy Mail!!!

I got a GREAT (and HUGE) box of goodies last night - just in time for all my cropping this weekend. Check out all my goodies!!

Like just look how big this box of goodies is!!!

And it was CRAMMED full!!

The main reason the box was so big was to fit this amazing
wooden advent calendar that I have cool plans for.

I also got some cool ATC kits from my crafty pal Tricia.

Along with all the goodies for my Treasured Memories
Snow Days crop kit.

Another purchase from awhile ago was a cool Art Journal kit from one of
the fabulous teachers TM promotes.

My crafty pal Tricia also got me a funky moose advent calendar
that I cannot wait to make.

I got these cool die cuts and voodoo dolls as well.

Not to mention some other fun goodies from Treasured Memories.

And I also got the prize I won from the last crop.

I am REALLY looking forward to all my crafting this weekend. I am hoping it will be a productive couple of days. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Great Swap and I am Published Again

I got some fun happy mail yesterday - a lovely swap from one of my partners in my Facebook group. It is a Fall Altered Paintbrush and it is just gorgeous. She sent me some fun goodies as well.

But the BEST happy mail I got yesterday was the current issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. And you know why? I AM PUBLISHED IN IT!!!  I also got another photo in it of me and a couple of my crafty peeps. I love seeing myself and my projects in print.

I even got a bit of crafting done last night, but I didn't finish the projects so  I will leave that till another post. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Pink Elephants Galore!!!

Sunday was just as crafty a day as Saturday was. Like I said, I worked on my journal idea and got it finished. I got the idea a while ago when I made my first Clarence elephant to do a journal page with them. When trying to think what to do with that first Clarence, I ended up with the song "Pink Elephants on Parade" from Dumbo going through my head. I just new that I had to do a journal page with a ton of pink elephants. That was my goal this weekend.

I started off doing the journal page. I used three shades of Distress Ink to make the background - Victorian Velvet, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberries.

Once I had the page background looking how I wanted, I added some balloons from the Crazy Things stamp set. I used the same three colours for the balloons and just spread them out over the page.

Next up was creating the pink elephants! I only did one on Saturday night as it was late by the time I figured him out. But I was pretty happy with how he came out. What really surprised me was how different he looked in the different lighting. Kinda cool!

I basically spent my whole day Saturday making the rest of the elephants. I was originally going to make just 4, but when making the first set I cut out the wrong colour than I wanted for one of the layers. Rather than throw those four out, I ended up creating 8 elephants. And I changed the colour combinations on them slightly so they all looked a little different.

Once all the elephants were done, it was time to finish the page. I added 5 elephants in total, as I wanted it to look like a whole line of them going all across the page. Then added the title. I absolutely LOVE how it came out. And when I showed a friend she said it reminded her of Dumbo, so I would say I was successful!!

I really enjoyed making this journal page - I just love the colourize dies. They can be a bit finicky but they end up looking so cool. And I have lots more projects in mind and on the go, as well as some crops coming up so I will have lots to post. Till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!
