Relaxing and Getting Crafty

So I got pretty crafty Friday and yesterday - it was nice to just relax and create after all the work looking after my grandkids! I love them but man do they take a lot out of me. I actually spent most of Friday evening not only catching up on my TV watching, but doing more work on my Diamond Dot project. Now that I have gotten going on it, I am kinda hooked! I think it will be what I do while watching TV most nights! I have made some good progress too so far.

I did do some other crafting as well yesterday. I finished off the last 4 challenges for the Scrap Shotz Staycation crop from last weekend. I needed to wait to the weekend not only for the time to finish them, but also because I was waiting for some products I had ordered. I wanted to use the new thin letters thinlets dies that I had coming. I am glad I waited as the layout turned out exactly like I wanted with those letters (though I messed up a bit spacing wise and had to improvise - though the end result is pretty cool!) I used this layout for the Unused Staycation Crafty Purchase Challenge

Then I did the Shake It and Spray it Challenge. For this one I used another of the new dies that I just got in, as well as my new Kitch Flamingo Distress Oxide spray. My favourite combination with it is any of the yellows - this time I used Squeezed Lemonade. I used the sprays on the background, as well as on the die cut. I did also learn that this die cut will likely work better/easier if I use wax paper. It was definately HARD to remove without using wax paper. Actually took me two tries to get one that would work. It was worth it though cause I love the finished card.

The next challenge was In the Garden and for this one I had several ideas, but ended up making a card from a card kit I got AGES ago from Scrap Addicts. I actually have NO IDEA how long I have had it, but it uses the Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Great Escape Collection and it was a perfect fall/garden theme. I was running out of time so only made one card for the challenge (will likely make the rest of them later today when I go back down to craft).

I finished up in my craft room yesterday by doing the last challenge, which was Gimme a Hug. I had the perfect picture to use for this layout and it came out really great. Simple and easy but very cute I think if I do say so myself!!

So now I am going to go back down to my craft room and do the rest of those cards, as well as try and do a project for the mood board challenges for the Reneabouquets Artists With An Edge Facebook group. I found a great page that inspired me on Pinterest so wanna see what I can come up with. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Sorta Crafty

Well I did actually get down to my craft room for a little bit last night - once I finally got my grandkids to bed! LOL - I wanted to at least do something, so I made the little teacup card that I got from Urban Scrapbook. I was supposed to have it last weekend but there was a mix up and I didn't get it till this week. I love how it came out though. Super cute card and so easy to do. Almost makes me wish I had a Cricut so I could make more of them!

And then today at work, I am not really working that hard. I brought my diamond dot project to work with me and since it is quiet I am working on that. Decided to start my crafty weekend early!

I don't have any specific crops this weekend, but I do have a Prima Art Venture Class that I just might do live as well as some other projects I want to work on. Of course, I just might do nothing but chill out and recover from looking after my grandkids all week! So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

SO MUCH Happy Mail!!!!

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday - because I have been looking after my grandkids so my days have just gotten away from me! But in the last few days I have gotten SO MUCH happy mail. I think I may have gone a bit overboard with my shopping of late. I LOVE my pals at Scrap Addicts, but I REALLY need to stop watching their daily videos cause I am gonna go broke!!! LOL

First up though I got a swap in the mail on Monday that I forgot to share. My partner and I made each other Graphic 45 Valentines Cards and we both ended up using the same paper - the Love Notes line. I absolutely love what she made me!!

Then like I said, today I got a TON of stuff in that I ordered from my crafty suppliers at Scrap Addicts, Treasured Memories and Urban Scrapbook. I cannot WAIT to play with it all.

Not sure when I will get down to my craft room next, as I still have my grandkids for a few more days. But I definately plan to craft on the weekend! So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Cropping Weekend - Day 3

I didn't end up doing that much more crafting yesterday - my mojo sort of came back, but not really! LOL First up, I did the sketchy challenge from Scrap Shotz. I did another layout using the frost photos from our walk last month. I love how it came out.

This is the sketch for the challenge

And this is what I did with the inspiration!

The only other things I finished this weekend were the other two projects I sent in for my auditon. I only had to do two but I couldn't decide which to use so I ended up using 4! I did another card and an ATC. The theme for everything was to be birthday and I am very happy with how these came out - pretty much exactly how I envisioned them!

The other reason I didn't get a lot more done is that I looked after my grandkids last night - as I also will be the rest of the week. So not sure how much more I will get down to my craft room. Though I am going to try as I want to finish up the remaining challenges for the Scrap Shotz crop. So until next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Cropping Weekend - Day 2

For some reason, I didn't seem to have a lot of craft mojo this weekend! Unlike other crop weekends, I really did not get a ton done. I did manage to get all the challenges done, and again I was able to use many of the ones I did for Treasured Memories for the Scrap Shotz crop. And I know I wasn't the only one that did that! LOL

The first challenge of the day was Something Sparkly and I used another of the die cuts from our goodie bag as my title for a layout of my adorable granddaughter and my son!

Next up was the first make n take for the day - a layout using a foiling technique. I used my headshot photo for this layout and at first it was kinda plain, but then my crafty pal Dawn showed me what she did with her layout and I was able to make mine look a better by scraplifting her idea. The layout turned out really fun I think.

The second challenge of the day was to do something Floral Inspired. I ended up doing a birthday card and this one had a dual purpose as well. Along with it being for a challenge, it is also part of some projects I had to make for basically an audition for a new swap group I just became a member of. Before I can swap with the new group I had to make a couple of projects so they can see my skill level. So I used the card  I made for this challenge as one of those projects.

For the third challenge of the day, I got another layout of my cute granddaughter mostly done. I can't finish it until I get some dies that I just ordered. But I will also be able to use it again for another Scrap Shotz challenge (as long as my goodies arrive by the weekend). But it is looking pretty good so far.

Once supper was done, I made the second make n take of the day. This one was a cute little card that looks like a man with a top hat and monacle. So adorable!!

The next challenge was to do something in Silver or Grey. This was another project I was able to use for multiple purposes. Not only did it work for both crops (it was for the Cut It Challenge for the Scrap Shotz crop), I used it for another project for my audition for the new swap group. I love using the die cuts we get in our goodie bags.

The last Treasured Memories challenge of the day was to do something Off Centred. For this one I did a two page layout for one of my cruise albums. Pretty happy with how it came out.

I thought I was done at this point as I couldn't really thing of anything else to work on. But then my pal Paula showed her silver/grey challenge and I loved it and realized I could do something similar and use it for one of the Scrap Shotz challenges. The View from Your Backyard challenge is what I ended up using this layout for.

So I am going to end up doing a bit more crafting today with my crafty pal Tricia, so I should be able to do a few more projects for the Scrap Shotz crop, as well as finishing off my projects for my audition! So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps.

Cropping Weekend - Day One

Well I had a fairly good day one of my cropping weekend! I actually was signed up for two different crops - one with Treasured Memories and the other with Scrap Shotz. It was kinda nice to have both crops at the same time as I could use many of the challenges I did for both crops!

I started off the evening by doing the first make n take. I was late joining the crop and even got called out by the awesome Katharina from Creative Scrapbooker for not being there to start. But I did make it!!

The first challenge of the evening for Treasured was Something Glamourous so I used one of the cute die cuts we got in our goodie bag to make a card. I was also able to use this card for the Clean and Simple challenge with Scrap Shotz. It is really amazing how much the die cuts pop against the glitter paper I used!

I really didn't get a whole lot done for the first day - not sure what was up, but my mojo seemed to abandon me last night. But I did get the last challenge done for TM, which was Using Neutrals. And again I was able to use this for one of the Scrap Shotz challenges as well - I used it for the Word Search Challenge. The words I used were Inl, Washi (Tape) and Die Cut. I just love how great of layouts you can get using the 49 and Market paper - you hardly have to do anything to it and yet the layouts you get are gorgeous!!

At this point in the evening I was done - and now I can get going on today's challenges! So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Fairy Card Class

I REALLY miss doing in person scrapbooking, but last night I got the next best thing. The awesome gals at Scrap Addicts did a Zoom class - we made three Fairy Cards. I really loved being able to do an interactive class. And for me it was awesome as I don't normally get to do these types of classes even without the pandemic as I don't travel to the city for something that is just one night. So in a way it was a bonus for me. And I loved how my cards came out - though I was having some issue with my stamping platform. In the end though they worked out great!!

I learned some fun techniques that I will definately use again. And I used my new backgrounds to take the photos and I love them!! I know the plan is to do these classes once a month and I hope I can do more of them. And tonight is the first night of the latest Treasured Memories crop. So I should be having another very crafty weekend. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Too Cold to Crop

I had thought of crafting last night, but with the cold spell my craft room is just too dang cold and I couldn't get motivated! But I did get some happy mail so I thought I would share. My pal Paula got these cool backgrounds for the photobox her hubby gave her for her birthday and I thought they would be a great addition to the one my hubby got me. I can't wait to take some photos with them.

I also got my goodie bag for the Treasured Memories crop this weekend. Should be another productive weekend that is for sure!

I also got in a great new die from my scrappy pal Leona at Scrappy Apple. I cannot wait to try it out - I think it is the biggest thinlet die that I have now.

But I get to start my crafty weekend tonight. Scrap Addicts and my wicked crafty friend Cori-Lynn is having a Zoom card class tonight. I will be making 3 fairy themed cards and I am really looking forward to it. Not the same as an in person class but the next best thing!

Looking forward to all my crafty adventures this weekend. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps.

Spoiled Rotten

I wasn't really in the mood to actually craft last night, but I did get down to my craft room to put away the AMAZING goodies that I got in the mail yesterday. First up, I got my order from ReneaBouquets - and as always she does NOT disappoint! Cannot wait to play with it all!!

Then I got a phenomenal swap in the mail - my pal Margaret spoiled me rotten! I absolutely LOVE all she made and sent me. She certainly knows me well and my tastes!!

I am thinking maybe tonight I will actually try and do some crafting. And I do have a couple crops coming up this weekend. So till then, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Lions and Tigers and Bears - Oh My!

So I had a really crafty day yesterday too - I love it when a plan comes together too! I had an animal themed swap I wanted to do and I got it into my head that I wanted to do something with the saying "Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!" I had the bear and Lion with my Theodore and Harrison Colourize dies, but I didn't have a tiger. So I decided to make one by altering Harrison. Of course only I would make a Colourize die even harder to do! LOL

I have to say he came out even better than expected!

I posted him on the Tim Holtz Addicts site and got even MORE responses than I did with the Santa turned leprechaun! I think I am up to almost 375 likes/loves and almost 50 comments. Talk about making me blush from all the compliments! All three of the animals turned out great and got lots of love online.

Then I had to sit with it awhile to figure out where to go next with the tag. But then I was able to work it out. I am actually pretty impressed with myself that it came out pretty much as I had planned it all out in my head. Love it when that happens! Hopefully my partner will like it too.

It was a really fun crafty weekend - especially since I got to hang with my TARB girls for the majority of the weekend (only online, but that is better than nothing). And now I want to make the other two Colourize dies that I haven't yet - Arthur the owl and Oliver the bunny. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!
