Cropping Day Two!

Another successful day was had cropping away at Treasured Memories with my friends. We also participated as much as we could in the Great Canadian Virtual Scrapbook Carnival - though I will be doing more of those classes and such once I get home and have access to all my stash! But I did a lot and got lots accomplished over the day.

First project was the the Get Messy Challenge.
I used sprays through a stencil for the backgound for these mini canvases.
 Love how they came out!!

Then the next challenge was use texture - so I used copper crackle paste on another
mini canvas to create the backgound. I got lots of oohs and aahs over this one!

Challenge 3 for the day was to use orange, so I did a couple pages in my Creativation
Album. It is already almost two years ago, but I still have tons of it to do. Good thing
I have my blog to go back to so I can get the info I need for the pages! LOL

Finally getting to hang with my peeps meant photos! So cool to be able to hang in person!

I also did both the make n takes for the weekend, though I still haven't finished the layout
one yet as I am still waiting on Darryl to get my photo for the crop. And I did the second
butterfly make n take slightly different - it was supposed to be 3D, but I want
to put mine on a layout so I made it flat and just added lots of bling!!

I decided after the make n takes to finish off the last two challenges at the same time.
First I made a tag for the masculine challenge. Kinda Steampunk, which is my thing.

And I won a prize for this challenge - yay me!!

Then the last challenge was to add floral. So I made another tag.

Once I had all the challenges done I decided to make all the die cuts they gave us
in our goodie bags. I love them all and will be using most of them on some
pages for this crop using the photos of the gang.

But I did put one of the die cuts on the last of the mini canvases I had.

Last up for the day was the door prizes, and I won again! I had a horseshoe this crop for sure!

We really had a ball all hanging out in person for a change. It was a fab time!!

It was just so nice to have the gang to hang out with. And to hang out with my family as well. This COVID thing is just a lot sometimes. So getting to destress with my gang is a good thing to save my sanity! I head home tomorrow, so till next time stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Cropping Day One!

So I had a really fun day with my crafty peeps today. It was so nice to be able to hang with them in person. And I even got some stuff done!! LOL

Showed up and got settled, after seeing all the cool stuff we got, as usual!

It was fun seeing my crafty peeps - love that we all have the same shirt (yet slightly different!)

I actually got some stuff accomplished - after I did a ton of visiting and shopping!!

This is part of a swap I have to do - it is gonna be a loaded pocket. It is all papered, now I just
have to add all the stuff in the pockets so I can get it off to my partner.

Then once the evening came, it was time for the TM crop to actually start.
First thing I did was the first make n take - a cute little card that looks like a garden apron!

Next up was the first challenge - use an alphabet. I just have to decide now if
I am gonna use a photo of me and my hubby or one of my niece.
Love how it came out either way - used the new Kaisercraft kit I picked up at Scrap Addicts.

Last project for the night was the second challenge - something Garden or Fall Harvest theme.
I decided to use some of the paper we got in our goodie bags and I did this page that
has flip up sections. I have photos of my grandkids to put in it once I get home.

All in all a very fun day - looking forward to more tomorrow. So till then, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Visiting Family in the City

First day in the city was spent doing some shopping - and no I forgot to take photos of my stuff this time (sorry!) - and hanging out with my family. It was a female affair as I hung out with my mom, sister and nieces. We had a blast!!

First up was a great supper with the gals

Then I hung out with my nieces - we had the BEST visit. They are just amazing young ladies
and I am so proud to be their aunt. I actually consider them daughters I love them that much!!

My niece Taryn is so talented too - this is the start of her Halloween costume

And her mom got here this super cool dress form - free! SCORE!!

Really looking forward to getting my craft on tomorrow with my Edmonton peeps. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Off to the City I Go!

So my crafty adventure is underway. It seemed like such a LONG day at work, since I was so excited to get on the road. I mean heck, I was packed days ago!!

And after a pretty uneventful drive, I got to my pal Donna's house and we had a wonderful visit. Even did it the right way - social distanced and all!

Looking forward to getting to the city to hang with my other crafty peeps and my family. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

FINALLY Crafting!

So I didn't end up having to work the entire weekend after all - I got down to my craft room after all! I have a couple swaps on the go and I was able to finish one of them. The one I got done was an exploding box card. There was a great tutorial on the swap for how to do it - really easy to follow along. This is the link and this is the YouTube video that I followed to make it.

I even did a little video showing how I had it done before I decorated it.

I think it turned out pretty good. I hope that my partner likes what I did. I realized after I had it all packaged up that I didn't attach anything to the inside portion. I left the tags unattached so that my partner can use them in projects if she wants to. I love the Stamperia paper that I used for sure!

I also was putting away my new Tim Holtz Distress colours and ended up having a slight accident! I spilt like half the bottle of paint!

Of course I couldn't let it go to waste! So I ended up starting a canvas and a journal page. I didn't think of it until afterwards but I could also have used it to create the fall tags I have to do for a couple swaps. But this way I can experiment on the journal and canvas and then do up the tags!

I am hoping to do a bit more crafting this week, but I am also heading to the city to craft with my friends. Normally it is Carnival weekend with Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. But they are doing their crop virtual this year. But me and a few friends are going to do the crop that Treasured Memories is doing at the same time. It should be fun. I am looking forward to seeing my family and friends. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Latest goodies

So I don't know if I will get any crafting done this weekend - it is coming up on Orange t-shirt day and for work I have 2000 t-shirts that I have to get heat pressed both sides by next week. I think my hubby and I will be working all weekend. Check out how full my store looks! LOL

But I did get some happy mail that I wanted to share before I spend all my weekend working. I belong to some really great Facebook groups and have some fantastic crafty friends. In one of the groups I am in I ended up winning this AWESOME altered paint brush as well as a bunch of fun goodies. I just love it! My pal Brandy that ran the swap really spoiled me!

I also got in my latest set of goodies from Scrap Addicts. I cannot WAIT to play with the latest Tim Holtz Distress colour - Crackling Campfire!

I am hoping that I at least have some time to get down to my craft room this weekend to play. So until next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Library Crop - 2020 version

So the library made the tough decision this month that we are going to cancel our big fall fundraiser crop. Due to Covid still going strong we just didn't feel that we could put on the event and still keep everyone safe. But we have decided that we are going to try and do it as a virtual crop instead. We are taking our cue from my pals at Treasured Memories and we will see how it goes! Our theme is fall and we have some fun ideas so far. We are going to run challenges throughout the day, as well as have some make n takes and some demos. I think it will be fun.

After the inspiration I got from the Maker Mania classes, I decided that one of the make n takes I was gonna do was going to be a mini album using a file folder. I wanted to buy file folders to do a couple of the classes from Maker Mania, but the smallest boxes I could buy had 100 folders in them. I figured having so many folders I could find a way to give a couple to everyone in the crop and do it as a make n take. I found this great tutorial for them that is super easy!!

I altered it just a little bit, but it turns out it is gonna be probably the easiest make n take ever for anyone to do! I even did a couple as a test run so I can show people how they come out. I still have to decorate them but so far they are really easy!

One of swaps I have to do is supposed to be a loaded pocket - I think I am gonna use one of these for that swap! I will post photos once I get them both decorated. Till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!
