The end of the month is here and apparently I got a lot of crafting in! I also got spoiled a lot too, getting more swaps in the mail. I got a great swap this week, as well as a super cute card. Check them out! First, I got this great card from my pal Juli. Totally made my day.

Then I got the binder swap from another group I am in. I have to say my partner went all out and totally spoiled me. I can't believe how much stuff she sent to me!!

I hope that August is as crafty for me as July was! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Monday 29 July 2019

Well for the first time since I started crafting, I scrapbooked while I was CAMPING!! One thing I didn't do when we were evacuated was bring any scrapbook supplies with me. So I decided to create a crafting bag for out camper. This way if we got evacuated again (GOD FORBID) or if it is rainy when we are in our camper I can craft. So it was kinda grey and rainy on Saturday so I thought YAY I am prepared. Well low and behold I was not as prepared as I thought - I hade everything I needed - EXCEPT ADHESIVE!! Kinda an important supply. Luckily I was able to hit the Walmart in Peace River and pick up what I needed.

Then I was all set to create!

I did kinda take a bit of a shortcut - I scraplifted a layout that my crafty pal Paula did back in May at the Star Wars crop we attended. I loved what she did some of the papers Treasured Memories gave us and I just had to do the same for myself! Here are the two layouts so you can compare!

Paula's layout

My layout - why mess with perfection?!?!

I also got in some crafting when I got home, as it was still kinda rainy when we got home (and I am NOT complaining about the rain as we still need TONS of it for the fires!!). I wanted to finish off another layout that I kinda started at the tailgate crop. I wanted to do up a layout with the other pictures we took on the Saturday. They gave us a lot of football themed paper but none of it was really what I wanted. However, we got one sheet that was basically football textured paper, so I used it to create my own football! I used modelling paste to get the 3D effect.

I love how it came out - especially since I was basically winging it!! And all the chipboard pieces came out pretty good too, even though the colours were not all what I had expected to get. All in all, I love how the layout came out!

Another great weekend as I got to do basically all my favourite things! Hang out with my husband and dogs, celebrate with friends, and craft! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

GUEST DESIGN TEAM PROJECT - STEAMPUNK CLOCK

I have had an absolute BALL being a guest designer for my crafty pal Candy Rosenberg and her store A Vingate Girl. She has such AMAZING stuff in her store and she sent me SO MANY goodies along with the stuff I purchased when I shopped with her. I wish I had more time to create with all the great stuff she sent me! This is likely the last project I will do as a guest designer for her, but it will DEFINATELY not be the last time I create with her FANTABULOUS products!!!

This project is a Steampunk Clock that I altered. I won this strange, rather ugly clock at a golf course party last year, and I almost threw it out as I couldn't imagine hanging it up anyhwere in my house. But then when I was trying to decide what to create as a guest designer I got the idea to alter it so I actually liked it! LOL. In creating I discovered it doesn't even work as a clock, but I love the end result so much I am gonna hang it up anyway (it will be right at least twice a day!!)

This is what the clock looked like when I got it.

My first step was to take it apart, spray the frame and cover the inside with adhesive.

Candy sent me a whole bunch of fabric samples, so I used those to cover the inside of the clock.

The next step was to add some texture paste and some knick knacks,
as well as spraying with some glitter

Then I worked on some other ephemera to add to the project. I used some of these items
on my corest frame project and then most of them on this project.
Candy makes the most unbelievably awesome chipboard pieces. You NEED them in your life!!

Once I had all these pieces done, I added them to the clock face.

This is when I realized the clock didn't actually work, so I just added more bling!!!

The final part of the project was to add some colour to the frame. I used the Finnabair Alchemy Waxes for this part - I picked Fire Ruby, Lucky, Turquoise, and Vintage Gold

Here are some close up photos, as well as a shot of whole project.

Being a Guest Designer for Candy has been a dream and I just love her and all her products. She is the most amazing crafter and such an inspiration to me. I hope I can be even half the inspiration to all of you that she has been to me!! And make sure to check out her store! Til next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Friday 26 July 2019

The rest of the happy mail that I was expecting arrived today. Not only did I get more of the gears I ordered from WISH, I got the matching order that goes with the stuff I got yesterday from ReneaBouquets . It is from a company called Crafty City. They have some fun kits and I had to get the paper that goes with the stuff I got from Renea. I can't wait to create with it all!

Headed camping this weekend but hopefully I can get some craft time in. So until next time, stay crafty my peeps!!
Got more happy mail yesterday! My amazing crafty pal Renea and her store ReneaBouquets had some amazing stuff that I just HAD to get. I am waiting for some co-ordinating paper to come in from another company she suggested. Then I am going to have a bunch of fun stuff to work with for my vacation pictures. Check out my score!!

I would love to play with it this weekend, but we are off camping and to a birthday party! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Thursday 25 July 2019

I got a chance last night to finish off the last layout that I started at the crop. I didn't want to finish it there as I wanted to use glossy accents for the title and gears I wanted to add and I knew it would not be dry in time. I am glad I waited as I am really happy with the end result.

I also got a chance to open the happy mail that I got while I was gone. The first one was one of the swaps that I was in. It was an altered box and I just love the one Brandy made for me! It is gorgeous!!

I also got another box from Pink and Main - my second subscription Crafty Courtyard Box. This one was super cute, but not exactly my style, so I am going to use it as a donation for my October crop. I did an unboxing video - take a look.

I basically had a totally crafty night last night - mostly because it was so hot in my house and the basement was the best place to hang out!! I not only got all the above stuff done, I got unpacked from my crop! I am hoping tonight I can finish a birthday card and maybe do some other crafting - if it is still so hot I am definately hanging out in my craft room. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps.
