CHRISTMAS CARD CLASS - TAKE TWO

So I did my second card class - this time at the High Level museum. Ended up with almost as many people - including some youngsters. I decided to do some slightly different cards for a few of them as the ones I did in Rainbow Lake were a bit more time consuming that I had thought they would be. But everyone seemed to love it and I have already been asked to do another one early in the new year.

Check out the different cards we did - some were the same as the ones I taught in Rainbow and others were new ones (ideas I got from Pinterest).

And I had some fun students - of all ages!!

It was a lot of fun and  am looking forward to doing it in the future.
So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

As I said in an earlier post, I did not get a lot of chances to scrapbook this week, but I did get down to make one thing. My pal Jeanine had a birthday this week so I had to make her a  gift! I used one of the canvases I did in my paint pouring class as the background. She was pretty happy with it. Well then again, so was I!

This weekend I have to prep for my next card class, as well as make something for a raffle for an upcoming event. And my hubby is having a birthday party for me.

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

STEAMPUNK SUGAR SKULL

One of the other advantages of Paula coming up to visit is that she also brought back Jorge for me! Now who is Jorge you might ask? Well back in October, Treasured Memories (one of my favourite stores - check out the link below to their store) had a contest that I participated in. They had 8 Styrofoam skulls that you could enter for a chance to decorate and then the winner would get a $100 Gift Certificate for the store. I didn't win, but I did have a great time decorating the skull and now I have a wicked  sugar skull to show for it. Check out some photos.

And I love this project so much I am not only submitting it to Just Steampunk magazine, I am entering it on a great blog - SanDee & amelie's Steampunk Challenges. Make sure you check them out - they are awesome!!!

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

The wonderful Melinda has decided to stop the monthly kits. I am hoping she starts up again, but in the meantime this is the last kit for me. Sad! But check out all the goodness

I will, as always, have fun creating with the great kit she put together. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

A CRAFTY NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS CROP WEEKEND - Day 3

So day three was really just about cleaning up and doing some last minute visiting, though I did actually get one layout done! It is not that difficult to do great layouts when you have such fabulously cute subjects to work with!!

And as I said, I got a lot of other stuff done so here are some pictures of all the other stuff I completed over the weekend!

This is the gift I made for my mother-in-law. I made her an album from our wedding. I know I am a bit late (like 17 years! LOL) but I figure she will like it.

And these are a couple of the pages that I did for the album.

This is the album I made for my mom. We had a 75th birthday for her back in April and I wanted to make her a special guest book/photo album. I am hoping she likes it and it helps her remember the fun she had at the party.

And these are a couple of the pages I did up. It also includes the cards that she got as well.

And then I finished off a project that I started back at the library crop in October. I had started the background of the tag as one of the techniques I was going to teach and then never ended up doing that part of the class. So I decided to finish off the tag with some of the new goodies that Paula brought up for me from Treasured Memories. The chipboard horse is one of the ones that the fabulous Glenda from the awesome BoozyBear. She designs custom chipboard pieces and they are amazing. Make sure you check it out! Then I used the the new embossing powders I got from Treasured to give it the colours I wanted. I love the end result!!

So all in all I had an amazing weekend - lots of fun, lots of great food and lots of fun crafting!! Cannot wait to do it all again next time. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

A CRAFTY NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS CROP WEEKEND - Day 2

So day two of this weekend started out fabulously! Not only did we get spoiled with more goodies from the organizers, we also got our "30 things" from all the other attendees. The basic idea behind this was that since it was a Christmas themed crop everyone would bring 30 small gifts so that each person went home with a gift from every other participant. And the really cool part is that for the most part everyone made their things. We got the most amazing assortment of stuff. Check out all the goodies we came in to find on Saturday!

These are the goodies that were on our table.

this is a shot of the crammed full bag of 30 THINGS

And this is all those things spread out!

And one of the amazing ladies who attended made us all these fun - and SUPER YUMMY - cake in a jar!!!! Mine was S'mores flavored and DAMN was it ever good!!!!!!

Then the rest of the day was spent working on projects and doing more visiting. And doing classes too. I actually got a whole lot accomplished! I will do a separate post to show the pictures of the two big projects I got done. But here are the classes I did.

This is the wreath we made - used old  encyclopedia pages for it.

Jena was our fab teacher - Tammy and I had a great time with this class.

Then I did some painting - this is our supplies/getting started!

We used a palette knife for a lot of the painting. It was fun to just play around with it and not having to be so exact. The more abstract nature of the painting is
what appealed to me the most!

And this is the finished painting. I just love the beachy nature of the painting. And since it is about as close to a beach as I am going to get for the foreseeable future it is a nice painting to look at on a daily basis that is for sure!

The other highlight of the day was Santa coming for a visit! We all got nice ornaments from him and got our pictures taken with him as well. A very fun day that is for sure!

And since it is so close to my birthday, I got some gifts too! I got super spoiled by my friends, that is for sure!!

This is my gift from the fabulous Donna!

This is the silent auction basket that I got at the event. I used my birthday money from parents for it - luckily I said that to the girl who was outbidding me or I might not have gotten it! LOL

And this is all the goodies that were in the basket - definitely a great deal!!

So since I took so many photos of the projects I was working on I will post them in a separate post. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

A CRAFTY NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS CROP WEEKEND - Day 1

So I had an absolute BLAST tonight at the Christmas crop that is being put on here at home this weekend. I do miss that I didn't get to see more of my Edmonton family and peeps, but it was nice to stay home and craft. Especially since I wasn't an organizer so all I had to do was sit back and have some fun!! We got off to a great start with my pals Donna and Paula coming up to craft with me!

Not to mention I got spoiled right off the bat as Paula brought me a birthday gift! And isn't this sooooo me?!?!?

I spent the majority of this evening going through the goodies we got and chatting/visiting, but I did get some work done on one project. I worked on the guest book/photo album from my Mom's 75th birthday party that we had back in April. I am hoping she likes it. Here is a picture of the cover that I got done.

So looking forward to the rest of the weekend! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Sunday, 12 November 2017

My other project this weekend was to prep for the card class I am teaching tomorrow night out in Rainbow Lake. I love how they called me a Master Scrapbooker! Pretty good for my ego I have to say. I hope everyone at the class has fun and I will try and post some pictures later, but these are the three cards I am teaching.

Looking forward to this class. Till next time - stay crafty my peeps!
