Got some more crafting done last night. I finished another swap, as well as finishing a canvas that I had started when I was working on my Shappy Chic canvases.

So first off, I finished off another swap. I signed up for a Halloween themed pocket letter swap and I got paired with the fab Lotte again - who lives in Denmark! I love having crafty pals all over the world! I hope she likes what I made for her. I am not as confident in my pocket letters as my other crafts. But I had fun making it.

And then I decided to finish a canvas using the Marilyn Munro photo that I had started when working on my Shabby Chic canvases for a couple swaps. I had altered the photo portion and then realized that it was too big! So I decided to us it on a canvas of my own. I tried sticking to the Shabby Chic theme and I also ended up using some other stuff that I had started ages ago. I am quite happy with the end result. And again, I had to take a couple different photos as the colours shit depending on what angle you look at them in.

And I already have it hanging up in my store and someone already offered to buy it! LOL I hope to do some more crafting before I head camping this weekend, so till next time - stay crafty my peeps!

HAPPY MAIL DAY yesterday!! Not only did I get a great donation in the mail, I got a couple of my swaps sent out to my partners!

I didn't get down to my craft room much yesterday - I was working on my triathlon training by biking and walking, so was a bit tired. But I do have a couple more swaps in progress. Having fun with all the different styles of swaps I signed up for. And I love sending stuff to all my crafty friends around the world!

So I finished the canvas I was working on last night. I was inspired by stuff I have seen in my crafty travels and the classes I have taken over the last while. I also got the zipper for the project from a swap partner so wanted to use it on something!

So this was the first step of the project - putting down heavy gesso through a stencil to give the background dimension and adding the zipper.

Then I added the flowers and bling that I wanted on it. And after that I added gesso. I actually found spray gesso - which made it WAY easier to cover everything than painting it with gesso that is for sure!

Then my next step was to add the colour I wanted. I used my Dylusions sprays and made sure that I used all the warm colours so that I didn't make mud! Thanks for teaching that to me Dyan Reavely!

I wasn't sure I was going to like this as it wasn't exactly what I had envisioned, but once it dried I was quit happy with it.

For the finishing touches, I added some of the Dylusions Mica Sprays and shimmer spray to give it some shimmer. I also added some of the Prima Alchemy paint in the Steampunk Copper and Metallique in certain places to give it some other pops of colour.

It was really hard to get pictures that show the true colour of the project - because of the way I did it the colours tend to look different depending on the angle you look at the project.  So I also took a short video to try and capture some of the colour.

All in all, I am very happy with the end result. And I already have it hanging on my wall at work! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

As promised, here are some better pictures of the other two projects I finished yesterday! They are both for swaps. I am getting a jump on my swaps - because I signed up for a ton of them! LOL

I was inspired by my crafty pal Sarah Routledge - she used the same pics of Marilyn Munroe and Audrey Hepburn on a project she did and I loved them and wanted to use them on something myself. She just got them off the internet and when I asked her if she was ok with me using them she totally was. Make sure you check out her blog - she rocks!!

Scattered Pictures and Memories

So this first one was an experiment to see if I could get the shabby chic canvas I was going to make for the next swap do what I wanted. And it did - so this will be the item I give my Not So Secret Sister for her November package. I used the Finnabair Prima Alchemy paints and I used the Opal Magic ones so they look like different colours depending on the angle you look at them. That is why I took a couple shots of the whole frame so that you could try and see the different colours.

Since this one ended up working the way I wanted, I wend ahead and did the other frame for my Craft Passionate swap. Asked my partner which she preferred - either Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Munroe. It worked perfectly as she picked Audrey so I was able to use different colours of the Prima Alchemy paints and used some other sprays and got a bit of a different effect for the second canvas. But as with the Marilyn canvas, the colour looks different  depending on the angle so I took a couple photos of this one too.

I got more work done on another project too that I hope to finish this weekend so I will post more pics of that when it is done. I have more swaps to work on too, so till next time - stay crafty my peeps!

As I said the other day, I finished not only my clock project this week, but my Greek Mythology project too. I was able to make a video of the project, as well as take some better pics so now I can post about it.

I originally had intended to use the clock project for my Greek Mythology swap, but once I realized that I didn't actually have any clocks like this for myself - and that I had a better idea for the swap - I went in a different direction. I decided to make my partner Pandora's Box, along with the "demons" that escaped from the box (in the form of tags).

I started out making the box. I used several different techniques that I learned from several of my scrappy friends.  This is how it came out.

Then I made tags of the different "demons" that Pandora let out of the box. I used heavy gesso to get the texture and then added different colours of Deco Art Lustre Metallic Lustre to give them different colouring.

And then to identify them. I printed off each of the names and to give them a unique look I burned them all around the edges. Thanks Donna Downey for the idea! lol

I am really happy with the end result. I hope my partner is happy with her Pandora's Box.

I even made a video of this project. I wasn't sure how the tag would all photograph, so I thought a video might be another way to show off the project.

I got a couple more projects done as well, but need better lighting to take photos, so will post them in another post. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps.

I finished my clock project! I was originally going to use this for a swap project, but when I realized that I didn't have one of these clocks for myself - and when I got a better idea for the swap I was in - I decided to keep this for myself. And I am really glad I did as I love how it turned out!

I started out by using some of the techniques I learned from my pal Dawn to get the clock the colour that I wanted.

Then I used the Graphic 45 Voyage Beneath the Sea paper for the background - and had to add gears so it would have a steampunk feel.

Then I found one of the cool chipboard pieces I got from Creative Embellishments. It fit perfect with what I wanted to do! My steampunk octopus - I sprayed it and added gears to it to get the look I wanted.

Then I used the rest of the shells that I got from the fabulous Melinda at SOD, along with flowers from the kit and more gears to get the look I wanted.

I got my Greek Mythology swap project done too - but I want to take some better pictures and even make a video so will do that as a separate post. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps.

Happy September everyone! I can't believe that it is already this time of year. How crazy is that! The weather has been cold and wet all week, but that means that I can spend more time in my craft room. Here are more things I have been working on this week.

I did more work on the tags that go with my Greek Mythology project. I am almost done with them and can finish the project soon.

I did a little more work on the shabby chic frame that I started as well.

And then I did a bit of work on the clock that I was originally going to use for my greek mythology swap. I am really loving how it is coming out so I am really glad that I decided to keep it for myself.

I am hoping to get more work done on these projects tonight. I will post more pictures as I go. Until next time, stay crafty my peeps.
