Happy Thanksgiving!!

So with today being a holiday, I actually got some more crafting done!! I had yet another swap to finish off - especially since I was a bit late with it. This one is for my pal Gena and is a Halloween themed flip bag. I wasn't sure about how to do this one. I checked out the tutorials on YouTube and then just kinda did my own thing. I also ended up making her two of them - just because. Here are some pics.

I hope she likes it - and forgives me for being late! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I finished off another swap this weekend too. This set was for another swap for my Card Making Friends Facebook group. This one was called a Marbled Tag/Card swap. I decided to do a couple different techniques for this swap to show my partner a couple things I can do!

This is the base for the card - I used a fun technique I found on YouTube.
I used Alcohol Inks on Yupo paper. It really gives a cool effect.

Then I just wanted to keep the rest of the card simple so added some die cut trees.

And then here is the finished card!

For the tag, I did an Autumn/Fall theme, and I used the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks for the background. They give a really great marbled effect. I got the idea for this technique from my latest issue of Creative Scrapbooker magazine.

This is a close up of the tag.

And here is the finished tag. I am pretty happy with how it came out.

Pretty happy with how crafty I was over the weekend! And then this next week is going to be taken up getting ready for the big croptacular next weekend. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

So I had to get some swaps done this weekend - I started of with making an altered canvas. And this one is going all the way to Pakistan! It is also going to be my November design team post. So I won't share the whole thing now, but here are some sneak peaks.

I will post more on this project next month, but till then stay crafty my peeps.

Had a good start to my weekend. I went to another paint night - this time hosted by Chinchaga Adult Learning Centre. It was a lot of fun. I think I am getting better at this painting thing too - it was a lot of fun and it seemed to come pretty easy. Natalie was also a good teacher. Check out my new painting!

This was what we got when we got to class - a black canvas and some paint

We used the blue in several shades to make the background  and the vase. We then used white for the first layer of the flowers - to make sue they didn't disappear into the black background. I have to say I was quite happy with the flowers I made. I am getting better at this drawing thing!

And this is the finished painting. I really like how it came out. This was a totally fun event.

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I was so tired from my weekend I realized I forgot to post a few things! As well as the other projects I posted before, I also got a couple tags done. These were ones I had started I have no idea when - I have been dragging them around for awhile waiting for a chance to finish them. Very happy with how they turned out!

Not to mention, I forgot to show the prize that I won! I posted it to Facebook and then realized - DANG my parents are gonna see this! LOL But what can I say, it was that kinda weekend!!

So till next time - stay crafty my peeps!

The other project I got finished this weekend was my design team project for Mixed Media Mojo Challenges. The theme this month was haunted with the twist of zombies. This is what I came up with.

The technique I used for this tag was wrinkling a paper bag that I then attached to the tag, then painted orange. Once the paint was dry I brushed the entire tag with black ink. Finishing touches were adding the chipboard zombies and the words. A fun and easy tag for this months project!

And the best part? The chipboard pieces are from a Canadian company called Southern Ridge Trading Co. Make sure you check them out!!

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

CRAFT N' SCRAP WEEKEND In GRIMSHAW - DAY 3

I cannot believe how much I actually got done at this crop! Even on the last day - which is only a few hours and mostly taken up with visiting. I got this layout done.

It was really a fun weekend. One of the things the organizers did was give us all a puzzle piece that everyone decorated as they saw fit. Then the put it together and gave it away as a final prize. I didn't win it, but it sure turned out great!

But then it was time to pack up and leave. SAD! :(

But I did have a blast with my posse!!

So another crafty weekend came to an end. Now I have to sort everything and get myself organized for the croptacular in two weeks. Not to mention get some swaps I am in finished. Gonna be a crazy few weeks. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
