HAPPY Happy Mail!!

I got a TON of happy mail yesterday. Didn't have time to play with any of it but I have SO many ideas on what I want to do with it all - and all weekend to play with it as I have an online crop coming up. Should be wicked fun!

First up - I got a few goodies from Rhea and R & R Scrapbooking. Just a few tools that I needed to round out my stash. And some vellum to try one of the techniques from the last Maker Mania.

Then of course I got my BIG box of goodies from Scrap Addicts. I absolutely LOVE the new Tim Holtz Distress colour Kitch Flamingo and I have SO many plans for it this weekend!! The Fairy Class Card Kit I got looks really fun too! It would be so nice to do in person classes again, but Zoom is gonna have to do for a while longer yet I think.

I think my favourite part of this happy mail box though was the fun sugar cookie that I got!
Is this not the coolest thing or what?! And it was supper yummy too.

So like I said, I have an online crop this weekend, so should have more to post soon. Til next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Freezing Cold

Well turns out there is another disadvantage to the stupid cold weather we are having at the moment! I just got in some goodies the other day and they came FROZEN SOLID!! They were pastes and they didn't like the cold any more than we do.

But leaving them upstairs in my warmer kitchen seemed to thaw them out and they work just fine. A couple of them the texture kinda changed a bit - they were not as smooth and creamy as they are supposed to be. But they still work properly so we are all good. I did a sample of each one so I could test them out and let my crafty pals at Scrapendipity where I got them from know they were ok.

The only one that didn't seem that great was the sand paste. I think it still worked - I will have to check it out tonight when I get home to see how it looks when it is dry. I think I am gonna try and turn all these samples into cards - will see how it goes. So until next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Finally Got My Craft On!

So my crafty weekend didn't go quite as planned - but for a good reason! My grandkids came over to visit us so I can't really complain! I did get down to craft most of the day on Sunday though and did manage to get two different swaps done as well as more work on my nieces grad album. So I do feel fairly accomplished and like my mojo is coming back!

First up, I did a Graphic 45 themed Valentine card for a swap. And my partner is actually a fellow Canadian, so that was cool. I hope she likes what I made for her!!

Then I did a loaded tag, this time for a swap with the Reneabouquets Facebook group. Last time I made a swap for this group I had a hard time finding products from her store to use as it has been a while since I shopped with her (mostly due to Covid and some restrictions she had to do for a bit). But when I went to do this project I remembered some stuff I got from her last year and pretty much EVERYTHING on this tag project came from her! Hoping my partner likes it!!

At this point I was on a roll, so I did another couple pages for my youngest nieces Graduation album. It is nice that I have a lot more time to work on this one for her. It is also a great way for me to use up some of the kits that I have had in my stash FOREVER!! I used one of the kits I got from a great site that I wish was still up and running called Monday Night Class. I didn't actually follow all the instructions - I basically just used the photo for inspiration and did what I wanted. I had a bit of an error at one point, but I made it work. And my sister is happy with it so that is good.

I ended up signing up for a few more online crops this weekend and I also have more swaps to do. So I should be spending more time in my craft room this week/weekend. It is also STUPID COLD this week so staying warm and cozy in my house is the plan for the foreseable future!!  So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

Happy Swapping Mail

My plan is to get down to my craft room this weekend and get some swaps finished. I am inspired since I got some fun happy mail today. I got a swap in the mail from one of my partners - a snowman tag that is so cute! She sent me some nice goodies too.

I am so in the mood now to scrapbook. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

No Mojo

Still haven't done any crafting this week - my mojo seems to have gone missing a little. It has been a pretty stressfull week, but I am sure I will get back in the crafty mood soon. I did get some great happy mail yesterday though, which did cheer me up as I had a rough day. My crafty pal Sheryl and I are doing private swaps each month with tags and I got the ones from her yesterday. They are wonderful!!

They are just STUNNING!! And the funniest part is that she used the same two figures on the Steampunk themed tag as I did on the one I made for her! Great minds think alike.

I also broke down and got one of the Gnome making kits the Town of High Level was offering. Not sure how it is gonna work, as they said all you needed was a glue gun and the instructions call for sewing! Should be interesting!! LOL

Maybe I will get down to craft later today. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Love Getting New Goodies

Took a break from actual crafting last night, but I did get new goodies I thought I would share with you! I ordered a few things from Scrap Addicts - my new thing is ordering stuff to make slimline cards. It seems to be the new in thing and I enjoy making them! I need to get more card bases for them though! And of course I had to restock on some of my adhesives!

Yesterday being the start of a February, I remembered I could open my next Brutus Monroe stamp/stencil set. It was SO CUTE!!!

It was perfect timing too for this flamingo stamp, since Tim Holtz announced his new Distress Colour and it is called KITCH FLAMINGO! I cannot wait to get mine and create some cards with it and this stamp/stencil set!!

Not sure when I will get to my craft room next, but I do have some new swaps to get working on, as well as tons of other projects. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Crafty Weekend - Day 3

I ACTUALLY did one of the projects from the event this weekend! The first presenter did this cool faux wood technique that I decided to try for one of the layouts for my niece Taryn's graduation album. Was a bit of a process, as the first paper I picked to use for it was textured and just didn't give me the look that I wanted. But once I tried it on smooth paper I got a great result. Not sure I am going to do it that often as it was quite a process, but I do love how this one came out!

Then I was on a roll and did a couple more layouts - though didn't do any more of the techniques from the event. I watch the rest of the videos from the weekend, but did the layouts from my own brain. And I was able to use the strips I had cut for the faux wood project so didn't waste them. I sprayed them with my Dylusions Glimmer Sprays and I really love the result. I also still have one of the pages I sprayed on to use for another layout.

Now that the event is over I am going to go through all the files and figure out which projects I want to do. I was going to print them off, but realized that would be a whole lot of paper. So instead I am going to just save them on my laptop - since I can't see going anywhere other than my basement to crafty any time soon. I really enjoyed this Maker Mania - much more than the first one I have to say - so much so that I already signed up for the next Maker Mania, which will be in June.

I should be able to get down to my craft room more this week - and I have a couple more swaps to do so that will give me inspiration. Till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!
