I just got some great pics from my nieces - they went to Scrap Addicts today and took my pal Kassandra's Teens and Tweens Art Journaling class. They really enjoyed it and did some great work!

This one is Madison's

And this one is Taryn's

I can't get over how talented those girls are. My sister has some great kids! And now I really have to go watch my Oilers win! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I spent most of this weekend so sick, but I did get a few things done despite feeling like I was run over by a freight train!

First off I finished my May Design Team project for Mixed Media Mojo. I can't show you the full picture till it goes up on the blog tomorrow, but here is a sneak peak.

And I also got another project of my own done. I did a couple of ATB's for swaps and since I had one block left I thought maybe I should make one for myself. Really happy with how it came out

I am pretty proud of myself for getting this stuff done when I feel so awful! But I gotta go cheer on my Oilers, so till next time - stay crafty my peeps!

I got more happy mail this week! I ordered a few more of those new Marabu Mixed Media sprays from Delta Arts. I also got some fab stuff from my pal Wendy at W2Scrapbooking. Check out my video of the goodies!

I also got my design team project done! But you have to wait to see it as I have to take better photos. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps.

Happy mail is the best! Got home yesterday with two fun packages - one from one of my favourite shops and one from a new shop I found. I got my latest kit from Scraps of Elegance/Darkness and then I got some knew sprays from a new store I was directed to from my pal Wendy at W2Scrapbooking. The new products are called Marabu Mixed Media Sprays and I cannot wait to try them out! But check out my video of my new goodies!

I hope to play with this stuff this weekend - especially since I have a design team project to get finished! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I got down into my craft room a couple times now this week, so I was able to finish off some projects! I have to get back to some art journaling, but I had to get some other projects done first.

First off, I made a birthday gift for a friend of mine. While teaching the art journal page class last month I used a canvas to show the students the technique. As a result I had a base to use for a project and since my friend Gena has a birthday coming up I decided to finish the canvas for her as a gift. I asked her for a favourite picture and she sent me one of a fairy she liked. This is the end result. I am hoping she will like it!

The other project I finished off was for a swap I was in. I had to do an altered bottle and since my partner asked for something shabby chic or vintage I wanted to use more muted colours. I had a wine bottle from a recent party that already had a frosted look to it so I used that for the project. Pretty happy with the end result - and I think my partner will like it!

I still have to finish off the other ATB that I started - and I think I will be keeping this one for myself if it keeps looking as good as it does so far. And I definitely want to do some art journaling this weekend! Oh, and I have a design team project to complete to. It is looking to be a pretty crafty weekend for me! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

So I didn't spend that much time in my craft room this weekend - I spent more time getting out and getting active this weekend! I walked my dogs and did a bunch of swimming so was a bit tired when it came to crafting. But I did get a few things worked on.

I made a couple birthday cards for my grandsons - I had a bunch of stuff to send them so wanted to get their cards done also. I hope they like them!

I also started a couple other projects. The first is an altered bottle for a swap with one of my Facebook groups. I am trying to go for a shabby chic look so hope I am succeeding.

And I had another of the blocks left that I had used for my last two ATB projects. I had an idea I wanted to try with the leftover paint from my paint class on Friday as well as some other stuff I had kicking around. So I started this block and so far it is going great! I will post more pictures as I keep going. But so far, so good!

I hope to get more work done on both these projects this week, as well as finish off another gift and start my May design team project. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I went to my first paint night this weekend and really enjoyed it! I have to say, I was almost surprised by how much fun I had.  Of course my painting didn't look near as cool as the instructors, but I really like how it came out.

This was how we started - all blank and ready to go!

And this is Mary - our FANTASTIC teacher!

This is step one - blending the first layer of colours

Then we had to add the grass

And this is the final painting.

And I just couldn't bring myself to throw out all this leftover paint - so I brought it home!

And of course, had to get a picture of the whole class. I just love how everyone's paintings came out different even though we were all taught the same techniques.

I really enjoyed my first paint night - and I cannot wait to do next month's class. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

SPOILED!!

Did I EVER get spoiled this week - I got two different swaps in the mail and my partners just BLEW ME AWAY with how fabulous the projects they made me were.

First off, my pal Debbie made me the most STUNNING ATB (Altered Trading Block). I was floored when I opened the package. Check out the amazing project I was gifted with!!!

Then  I also got this fun/fabulous altered Pringles can from another swap pal in the new Card Making Friends group on Facebook that I joined. It even opens so I can store stuff in it. And she sent me some fantastic goodies with it too. Love it all.

I have to say I felt especially luck yesterday after opening all my great packages. I cannot wait to do more swapping. This is why I love it so much.

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
Well I told you all I would post a pic of the goodies I got when I was in the city! So here it is - got some good stuff!!

I am looking forward to doing a project with the chipboard top hats - I am going to have to definitely do one in a Steampunk style! I will post pictures when I get one done.

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD

Hey everyone! Wanted to share my latest design team post with Mixed Media Mojo. I hope you are all having a fun month cause I know I am! I wanted to show you how I used another of my new products - the Dina Wakely Scribble Sticks. I watched a couple videos on how to use them and came up with some fun projects for them.

First off, with the theme Spring and the twist Showers I wanted to create a journal page using my new Dina Wakely Scribble sticks. This is the page I came up with.

As I said, I had watched several videos on this new product,
but this is the one I followed for this page.

But then I decided that I don't want to always show you other people's videos. I need to make some of my own. I apologize in advance that it is not as good quality as the video above. I am still learning how to improve my videos, but I hope you still get the idea. I made a couple of Easter tags for the gift baskets I am sending my grandsons. Take a look at how I made them.

And here is a picture of the finished tags.

So I hope you liked my little tutorial and my projects for this month. And make sure you enter the April Challenge that we do on the blog - you have a chance to win some fun prizes!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I hope everyone had as much fun over Easter as I did. I didn't get any crafting done per say (other than some crafty shopping!) because I was in the city celebrating my Mom's 75th birthday with my family. It was also my Dad's birthday this weekend so we did even more celebrating with him. Take a look at some of the great pictures I got over the weekend.

Friday started with a dinner out at Three Amigos in Edmonton to start the celebrations.

This is the Amigo-Rita I had - and needed help to finish!

This is the Marachi singer that serenaded us all through supper. The girls loved him!

Dad even got into the spirit of things and really enjoyed himself!

My Mom and her friend Esther tried one of those big drinks too!

And I got to hang with my nieces - a couple of my favourite people!!

Then we had Mom's big 75th birthday party. She really enjoyed herself and we got some really great photos of her and all the guests. A few people ended up not being able to make it cause of the weather but overall it was really a success!!

But I think my Mom's favourite part of the weekend was when she had the whole gang of us watching the Oilers game in her bedroom on Sunday night! It was a lot of fun!!

And the weekend ended with a birthday brunch for my Dad, as Monday was his actual birthday.

I did get to a couple of my fav scrapbook stores, so I will take some pics of my purchases and share them later. So till then, stay crafty my peeps!
