To Craft or Not to Craft!

Not sure if I am going to get to my craft room or not today, as it is Halloween and we have some plans with our grandkids. I got some great happy mail yesterday so hope that I can get down there. I have two different sets of Snarky Cats to play with and lots of ideas for them.

Of course my favourite part of my goodies yesterday was the two penguins I got for my mom to add to her collection. They are even cuter than I had anticipated!

So I am actually going to head down to craft now, see if I can get something done before we head out to see the kids. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps. And HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

The Poisoned Apple Exhibit

I was invited to join in another blog hop and this one is SUPER COOL. A small group of fantastic creators with some unique projects. It is called THE POISONED APPLE EXHIBIT. We even have a fabulous prize package you can win!

I decided to do a wall hanging for my project - well it turned out that way. I started off creating a Zombie Moose and then needed to decide how to display it. A wall hanging is what I came up with. I started out with a wooden moose I picked up at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival last year - the first step was to paint it black.

Then I added some skulls with texture paste.

After that, the next step was obviously to add some fake blood.

Once I had the basics of the moose, I realized I needed a way to display him. So I found a wall hanging I had in my stash. The first step with it was to add paper. I found the perfect paper to use - which I had gotten from one of my swap partners.

The wall hanging came with wire to hold it together, but I wanted to do something different. I found some popsicle sticks to use to hold it together (to kinda give it that fence look). My fabulous hubby told me the best way to attach them was wood glue - which meant leaving them overnight with some weight on them.

It worked perfectly!!

The last steps were to add some more colour to the moose (I used Finnabair wax in a green/gold to bring out the textured skulls on the moose), as well as some other ephemera to finish it off. Here are some close up photos, as well as a picture of the full project.

As I said at the beginning, we have a wonderful digital prize package up for grabs, courtesy of Gecko Galz (https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz)! You'll receive: Face To Face Jewel It Collage Set, Steam Punk Collage Set, Picture Perfect ATC Set, Clockwork Christmas ATC Set, and Spellbound Digital Stamp Set (which has 25 images!).

To have a chance of winning, leave a comment on this post, along with your email address or social media contact (IG, FB, etc) from now through Monday, 2 Nov. One lucky winner will be picked randomly from all comments left from all of the artist's participating! The winner will be contacted via email or social media so it's important you leave your address/social media contact info! Good luck and enjoy the hop!

Make sure you check out all the great projects by these PHENOMENAL artists!!

I hope you enjoyed all the great projects by these awesome artists. And again, don't forget to comment for your chance to win!!! Till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

Swaps

I got the cutest tag in the mail yesterday - one of my swaps from the great Facebook swapping group I am in. The theme for this one was to do a Juli Nutting Doll Halloween tag. My partner did a great job - especially since this was only her second swap. The greatest part too is that not only did I get my tag from her today, she got the one I sent her the same day!

I really love these swapping groups that I am in - it is so fun to get stuff from all over the world from all the great crafters I have met. I have a great collection now. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Well I didn't really do much crafting since the weekend - mostly because I forogot I had to work the last few nights selling hockey gear at the arena. But I did put together a birthday gift for the lovely woman that works for me. I picked up a little something at our local hardware store and altered it a bit. I also did up a little jar that I painted AGES ago - adding some final touches to it to make it look nice for her. She said she absolutely loved it - I love spoiling my staff!!

I also just realized that I forgot to share some of my latest happy mail! I got in both my sets of Snarky Cats that I ordered for myself and my pal Tricia. Cannot wait to play with them all!!

I also got in this fake corn that I thought would look cute on my corn maze photos. It is actually a LOT bigger than I had anticipated, so it might not go on layouts! LOL, but I will figure out something to do with it in the end I am sure.

I think our plan for the weekend is to do some more virtual crafting, so I will have more photos soon I am sure. And keep your eyes peeled for my Blog hop post for THE POISONED APPLE EXHIBIT coming up on Friday. Till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

More Crafting

Once my grandkids when home, I was able to get some more crafting in. My crafty pals wanted to do some more so who was I to argue! LOL

I did another layout for Taryn's grad album. This one was of what we think was her 5th birthday. I love how it came out!!

Then I decided to do another of the new Tim Holtz Colorize dies that I recently bought. This one is called Snowscape and I think this is the easiest one I have. Perfect for card making that is for sure!!

After supper when my hubby went to hockey we got right back to crafting. I wanted to do another layout for Taryn's album, and decided to use one of the cute die cuts that I bought back in July when I was at Treasured Memories. I thought it would be cute on a page for Taryn. And when I was in the city in September she told me this story on how when she was two she wanted to be called "GALINGA", so that had to be put on a page. My sister loved the layout so I guess it was a success!

You would think at this point I would be done, but no we were still chatting so I kept crafting! I did another layout for my cruise album. It turned out even better than expected - especially since I was just using up some leftover paper from a kit I used on another page.

All in all, a VERY crafty weekend spent - virtually - with almost all my crafty peeps! I have to say having these virtual craft events is really keeping me sane. And I love that I can hang with my crafty pals virtually since I can't really in person. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

TM Angels and Devils Crop - Saturday

I definately got LOTS of stuff done during the second day of the Angels and Demons crop - even with having my grandkids come over and doing a bit of babysitting!! It was a pretty jam packed day I have to say. Again, having all the challenges certainly helps get a lot of things done!

The first challenge was DARK, and it was due for 1:00 pm, so I had the morning to work on it. My bestie crafty pal Tricia and I had decided to work on a layout with the same theme. We wanted to use photos of the autogaphed books we got by JR Ward, but we didn't want to know what the other was doing - in order to see how close or different our pages would be using the same photos and inspriation! We did really amazing if I do say so myself - but we decided to NEVER do this again, as it was too hard to do without asking the others opinion as we went. LOL

This is how my pages came out

And this is Tricia's pages

Next up was the LIGHT challenge, and I got inspired for this one with by the die cut wings we got in our goodie bag. I knew I had the photo of my siblings and I in our angel costumes from when we were little and I knew the page would be great! I really love this one that is for sure. I did however have a bit of an issue with this one. I didn't realize till it was pointed out to me this morning that I spelled the word PERFECT wrong! I was able to come up with a fix that actually almost looks like it was on purpose. Or at least that is the story I am going to stick with.

Now it was time for the first make n take for the day. This one was a layout - and a super creative one at that. I knew I had perfect Halloween photos of my neices to use for this layout so was excited to do it. Love how it came out!!

Then it was time for another challenge. This time it was ADD DIMENSION, and I had the perfect little voodoo dolls that I got from Treasured Memories that I knew I wanted to use. I also got an extra sheet of custom paper in my goodie bag so thought it would work great with the voodoo dolls and some cool paper I found in my stash. I ended up making a set of cards with all those supplies for this challenge.

After this challenge was another one - this time it was to add a BORDER. We got a couple more great die cuts in our goodie bag, so used them to do a layout with the matching photo of my oldest niece to the one I used on the make n take with my youngest niece. Another fun layout for sure.

Once I took a break for supper and to help my hubby out with our grandkids, it was time for the second make n take of the day. This one was another super cute die cut. Not sure what I will end up using it for/on, but I love it nonetheless!

The last challenge of the crop was to do something GEOMETRIC. I had an idea to do another layout for my youngest nieces grad album, but first off I wanted to use up the other paper we got in our goodie bags. I was going to make ATC's with it, but the individual sections of the paper were too big for that. I thought up an idea for a layout and I was gluing down the last piece of paper before I realized that it actually worked for the challenge. Go figure! LOL

I used these pages for my challenge project, but I still wanted to do a layout using Taryn's photo. So basically I did two geometric challenge projects (though I only put my name in once).

It was a really great day - I even won ANOTHER door prize, which never happens to me. I had so much fun hanging out virtually with all my crafty peeps. And now that my grandkids have gone home I can do more crafting. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

TM Angels and Devils Crop - Friday

I am having another great weekend of crafting this weekend - Treasured Memories is continuing to have monthly virtual crops, and the theme this month is Angels and Demons. I got quite a bit done last night for the first night and should be able to get more done today. Their challenges always are great inspiration and help me get lots of projects done.

I started the night doing a bit more work on my Zombie Moose. I got it mostly done, so was able to use it for the first of the challenges, which was Halloween. I don't want to show it here as I will be doing a whole post on it - since it is for a blog hop. But here is a preview.

After I got this challenge done, it was time for the first of the make n takes - a cute little spiderweb box. Chantel comes up with the cutest stuff for us to make!!

Next up was the next challenge, which was Pink and Bling. My crafty pal Dawn had shown us how to do a cute little card, and we had gotten some cancer ribbon paper in our goodie bag, so I decided to make a card for my pal Michelle. It turned out really cute.

Before Friday night was done, they gave out door prizes - and I actually won one of them!! It is super cute - a pumpkin carved by my crafty pal KC (one of the owners of Treasured Memories). I can't wait to get them.

My last project of the night was a layout using the photo they sent us for the crop, as well as a couple of the die cuts we got in our goodie bag. I had to do my layout right away since I got my photo so quickly this time around! LOL

I have a ton of great ideas for today - and there are more challenges too - so I should be able to get lots more done. I am just waiting for my breakfast to finish baking so I can eat before I start crafting. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

LOTS of Happy Mail

Well yesterday was a VERY good happy mail day for me. I got TONS of stuff in the mail and I cannot WAIT to play with it all.

Love when I get happy mail!

It includes all the stuff from the Goodie Bag for this weekend's Angels/Demons crop

And since I knew I was getting stuff from Treasured Memories, I had to do some other shopping as well, especially when they had a sale during our crop last weekend.

I also got a GREAT selection of stuff from my pal Candy Rosenberg and her store A Vintage Girl Shop. She always spoils me by sending extra goodies. I can't wait to create with the great stuff she has.

I also got a little more done with my zombie moose - well I made sure the wood glue worked. I think it is coming along pretty well.

I am hoping to finish it this weekend, along with a bunch of other projects. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

TARB GIRLS

I didn't think I was going to but I actually was down in my craft room for a bit last night! My husband was working on some engraving for work and I figured I might as well finish off the last project from the library crop that I had started - the two page layout inspired by my pal ShawnaLee's make n'take. I am thrilled with how it came out!! I even turned it into a two page layout like she normally does. It was really fun to make.

I also did a bit of work on another project - I am in a blog hop for Halloween called THE POISON APPLE EXHIBIT and I have a zombie moose project I am working on. I will post more details on the blog hop next week, but here are some sneak peaks of what I have done for the project so far.

The last thing I did last night was attached some stabilizing pieces to the back to put the pieces together. I did it with wood glue, so of course I had to put some weight on it overnight and let it set. But of course that meant I couldn't do anything else with it last night!

I might get down to my craft room tonight - if nothing else to see if my project set! I also have to prep for the crop this weekend. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!
