Well I have decided that this is going to be my last post for 2016.  With packing up to head out of town tomorrow and all the visiting and such we will be doing, I just don't think I will have the time to post - especially about craft related stuff. It was easier last year when I stayed home and was able to sneak down to my craft room every day at least for a little bit. I am gonna be spending all my time getting in new baby snuggles! But I did get one more project finished so thought that would be a good way to end my crafty year!

I made a shadow box with pictures from my son and daughter-in-law's wedding for them as a Christmas gift.  The shadow box itself is one that I won during an online auction a few years back and just never got around to doing anything with. I asked my daughter-in-law for a few of her favourite pics and then just went for it! I even used some of the newspaper that my pal Candy sent me (I think it is from something like 1942!)

I had a hard time taking decent photos as it is dark in my house (end of the day in the far north and it is stupid dark outside!) and with the glass in the shadow box it was not easy to take a good photo. But I got a few good ones. Really hope the kids like it.

So now I have to do some last minute packing and organizing and then off to bed so that we can head out early for our Christmas vacation. So to all you fabulous followers that have continued to support me throughout this crafty journey of mine, thank you for inspiring me and encouraging me on this crazy ride! So till next time I blog, in 2017, stay crafty my peeps!!

One more Christmas gift finished and ready to wrap. I am almost done for this year and then tomorrow all I will have to do is pack for the trip - once we figure out how to get all the gifts in the car!!

For my pal Cathy I decided to finish the Fairy Themed album that I started back in November at the crop I was at.  She said she loved it so I figured that would be the perfect gift for her! Here are some photos.

I also decided to do a short video as I find albums like this can be so hard to get good pictures of - especially all the inside pages and tags and such.  Here is a better look at the whole album.

So now I have to do a bit more work on my last Christmas gift, and then go to bed so that my cold continues to go away! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Wednesday, 21 December 2016

Spent my evening doing laundry and wrapping gifts, so again didn't make it down to the craft room, but I do have some Christmas-y things to share.

I made both of these Christmas projects for my store a few years ago and they come out every year when we do our Christmas decorating. The sled was supposed to hold candies for my customers but I just didn't find the time to get any this year so it became a vehicle for one of the many Moose we have in the store. And the little book was all made from the same paper that went on the sleigh.

And then I made this wooden Kaisercraft Christmas tree. I think they have both held up pretty well over the last couple years.

But the most exciting news of the day is that my newest grand baby decided to make her entrance a few weeks early. So instead of having to wait till the new year to meet little Octavia I only have to wait 3 more days! Everyone is happy and healthy - the best Christmas gift we could get!!

So I still have a couple gifts to finish and wrap so I should be able to post more this week. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I didn't get down to my craft room last night - as I spent most of my evening wrapping Christmas presents! I didn't realize just how overboard I went until I started!! Every time I thought I was done I would find more to wrap. I am obviously one of those grandmas who likes spoiling her grand kids!!

This isn't even all of them!!

I also wanted to give a shout out to one of my friends who has her own business who helped me with my presents. She made me signs for all my grand kids. They turned out so great!! Her store is called Klondike Creations and you should check her out - she rocks!!

Check out what she made for me!

Really getting excited about the holidays! Can't wait to spend time with all the kids and family. I think this is going to be one of the biggest ones yet as there are going to be 16 people at my son's house on Xmas day! Cannot WAIT!!! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

So not sure if I am gonna get any crafting done tonight as I had to have two fillings put in today and I am feeling pretty crappy. But I don't want to miss out on any days of posting this month, so thought I would try and think of something else crafty to post about.

In the few years I have been crafting I have met some really amazing people. I love that I have crafty contacts all over the world and that I have gotten to take some pretty amazing classes along the way. So I wanted to give a shout out to all my crafty peeps and thank you so much for the inspiration and friendship you have given me over the last few years. I can't wait to meet more crafty people and keep going on this amazing journey!

I got to meet and learn from the FABULOUS Dyan Reavely earlier this year.

I met this crazy, fun, fantastic lady through
Facebook - Nylsa - and hope to meet her one day.

In September I got to take a really fun canvas class with the awesome Nicole Wright.

Had a great crop in La Crete and got to meet and learn from the fun Jeri from Bo Bunny

And I also got to spend quite a bit of time with many of my crafty friends this year too!!

Cathy and I got to hang out in September at the Scrapbook Carnival

And then in October I actually got more of my Edmonton peeps to come up to the
library crop in October.

It has really been an awesome crafty crazy year and I can't wait for more crafting adventures in 2017! Until next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Our Christmas Staff party adventures in Peace River were a LOT of fun!  The party was really fun and we even ended up with a couple of decent gifts. And our pal Chris and one of the other DJ's had the best Christmas outfits ever! And of course it was even a bit of a Theatre Troupe reunion and we captured it on digital! I had to - recently heard from a previous troupe member and had to show her that we are all still as nuts as ever, just WAY older! LOL

And once we got home I was able to get down to my craft room and worked on some more of my Xmas presents. I even got one of them done! Hoping my pal likes it cause I am really happy with how it came out.  Here are some pics.

Have more work to do on a couple other projects, so hopefully will get down to my craft room a bit more tonight. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Saturday, 17 December 2016

Not gonna have a lot of time in my craft room this weekend, as we are heading to Peace River for my hubby's staff Xmas party.  But I did get some more work done on a few of my projects last night so I still have stuff to share.

I am working on a shadow box for my son and daughter-in-law with pics from their wedding. The frame is in progress, as is the background for the pictures. I need to get this done before we leave, but I am sure I will. I just have to decide which pictures I want to use. I hope they like it

And I did some more work on a few more Xmas gifts. Pretty happy with how they are coming out so far. Hope the recipients like them.

So gonna go do a bit more work before we head out for our party. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

More happy mail for me! I got my latest Scraps of Elegance/Darkness kit yesterday. I always LOVE what Melinda puts together. Can't wait to play with it all. Check out my goodies!!

Hope to get some time to play in my craft room this weekend, but not sure as we are headed to Peace River for my hubby's staff Christmas party. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I got another of the journal pages that I was working on based on the amazing tutorials of Vicky P. and her YouTube channel.  My colours don't seem as bright as hers - but I think I used different ones so that could be why. I am really happy with it regardless. Her tutorials are so easy to follow and her pages so cute I can't wait to do more!

Here is my version:

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I found a great new site to feed my crafting addiction! One of my crafty Facebook pals invited me to the SA Crafters Facebook page and when I went to her site I fell in love! She has so much cool stuff. Check out my goodies:

This is her Facebook page:  SA Crafters - Facebook

I cannot WAIT to play with it all.  Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

So I went from being totally bummed about losing one of my craft groups to finding another new one that I think I am going to be a Design Team member on! That is an improvement I must say!!

I am still waiting on details so will update this post when I have them, but this is a link to the blog and to the Facebook page for the group. Every month they have a theme and team members post projects based on the theme, as can anyone else. I think this is gonna be great fun! Can't wait!!

Since I am a big fan of mixed media, this is right up my alley. Here are just a couple of my mixed media projects to get ready for this exciting new venture in the new year!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Monday, 12 December 2016

Really not feeling great today, so not sure I am going to get down to my craft room. But here are some photos of what I have in the works.

I did more work on the other journal page that was inspired by Vicky P. - I still have a bit of work to do on it but I am liking it so far. Again, I changed things up a bit but I think that is part of art journaling. Find something you like, even if it is a class or tutorial, and give it your own spin!

I also started working on a Christmas gift for my son and daughter-in-law. I am using a tutorial I had from another class to do the frame, and then the inside will be something I cook up on my own. This is the progress so far.

And then I did a bit more work on another Christmas gift. Again, not sure where it is going, but having fun so far!

Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Sunday, 11 December 2016

I almost forgot to post today! I spent a nice lazy day hanging out with my hubby, watching TV and playing in my craft room. I was happy that I got quite a bit done and I was thinking to myself that I have a bunch of things I can post for the upcoming week. And then I realized that I hadn't posted today!

So, I have a whole bunch of project in the works, but I did get at least one thing finished. I completed one my journal pages that I was working on. As I said before, this one was inspired by the fabulous Vicky Papaioannou and her totally phenomenal YouTube channel. I didn't do the page exactly like she did, but I am very happy with how it came out. I posted it on Instagram and tagged her in the post, so I hope she likes my take on her tutorial.

This is my version

And this is Vicky's version

I will be posting more throughout the week - as I said I have a bunch of projects in the works that I hope to finish during the week. Especially since several of them are Christmas presents. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
