Artist Trading Coins and Mini Canvases Swaps

The last of the swaps I finished were for yet another group I am part of on Facebook. This one is called Monthly Happy Mail Swapping & More - it is a closed group and these are the first swaps I have done for it. They are also both group swaps so not sure how they are going to go or what I am going to get back, but I figured I would give it a try!

The first things I had to make were Artist Trading Coins. They are the same idea as ATC's, but they are round coins instead of rectangular shapes. I got my hubby to cut the shapes out for me on our laser engraver, which worked out fabulous!  This swap had a fall theme so I picked fall colours for them.

I started out by adding white gesso to the coins and then creating texture using modelling paste on them using three different stencils.

I added some fun paper to the back of them so they looked good when I put the
necessary information onto them.

This is how they turned out - I think they look pretty cool.

In the instructions for the swap they also said we should package them nicely, so I altered this box to put them into.  I hope the person who gets them likes them.

The other swap I did for this same group was a mini canvas swap. We were supposed to make 3 mini canvases and again do them up nicely/put them into a nice package. This is what I came up with for this swap.

I started out adding gesso to all the canvases

Then I took a couple and added texture to them using a stencil

And I added other ephemera to the other two canvases (they came in a set of four so I decided to make them all and then decide which three to use for the swap itself since I only needed three)

Them I used different paints and other embellishments to finish them off. I decided to place them into special boxes/frames that I had. I put 1 in a smaller frame and two more in a larger frame. I  added paper to both boxes to fancy them up as well. They all came out pretty good I think.

I also decided to send the 4th canvas to the organizer Brittany for all her hard work organizing and running this swap group. I know it can't be easy and I wanted her to have one of the canvases I made.

All in all, I guess I was more productive these last couple weeks than I thought! I hope whoever gets my projects likes them! And I have a crop coming up on the weekend out in La Crete so that should be fun! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

ALTERED PAINT BRUSH CHALLENGE

The next project that I finished was not a swap, but a challenge. Again, it was part of a Facebook group called Artists With An Edge. It is also connected to my pal Renea's store ReneaBouquets - it is a way for people to showcase projects they made with her products and promote her store. We had until today to get the project done to qualify for a prize package. I got mine done just under the wire! LOL

We were supposed to do an altered paint brush - but I ended up doing two! Partly because when I bought them they came in a package of two, and partly because I couldn't decided if I wanted to do a black or white base - so I did both!

This is the white based brush

I ended up giving this one to my employee France for her birthday - and she loved it!!

And this is the black based brush

This one I gave to another one of my friends.
She doesn't have it yet but I am hoping she likes it.

I didn't win the challenge, but still glad I participated. Will post my other projects as soon as I get some good pictures. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Saturday, 20 October 2018

Well since my crazy few weeks with all my crafty adventures the last few weeks have been pretty quiet as far as crafting goes. I haven't done that much, though I did finish a few swap projects. The first thing I finished was a canvas for one of  the Facebook groups I am in. It is sponsored by one of my great crafty friends Renea and her store ReneaBouquets. It was a mini canvas swap and I was supposed to be swapping with one woman but when I was ready to send it she said she hadn't done one for me yet. When I contacted the organizer she said she would swap with me instead. This is the canvas she is sending to me.

I had fun making the one I did and I am glad that I ended up with a partner to swap with. This is what I made for the swap.

I have more projects to post so will get those up as soon as I can. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

GOOD FOR THE CREATIVE SOUL CHALLENGE -                "THINK PINK"

I am up on the Canvas Corp Brands blog again today as part of the October Good For the Creative Soul Challenge. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, we were challenged to create projects that were monochromatic pink. Since I have a friend who is a breast cancer survivor, I made her a set of three ATC's that celebrate her journey. I used the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pink for my background of each ATC and then finished them off with various ephemera and flowers. She really liked them which is the most important thing. Here are some photos.

Make sure you check out the blog post to see what all the other great members of Creative Crew came up with! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Got some GREAT happy mail yesterday. In one of the Facebook groups I am in the admin created an event where we make a Halloween Themed Shadow Box and share with the group. One of the gals messaged me though and wanted to see if I would be willing to do it as a swap with her - of course I said yes! I sent hers off after finishing it at the Grimshaw crop, and I got hers in the mail yesterday. She should have gotten hers yesterday so now I can post pictures of them both!

These are some pictures of the great goodies and box I got from my pal

And here are some pictures of what I made for her

This was a fun swap and I am glad she liked her project as much as I liked mine! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

4th ANNUAL HIGH LEVEL LIBRARY CROPTACULAR

The last day of the crop was fun - a final day to get stuff done and do some last minute visiting. It was another great event and it looks like we made some good money for the library. Here are some shots of the last day!

We didn't have a lot of people there, but the ones who came did some last minute shopping.

And they had to get in some last minute crafting

And visiting too

And our illustrious chair of the library board had to craft right till the last possible minute!!

And like I said, I got quite a bit done. I did all the make and takes, did some ATC's and finished a big project I started back in July. It was a very crafty weekend for me I have to say.

These are my ATC's

And the make and takes Treasured Memories did all weekend.

I love learning new ways to use the products I have already

Of course we had to do Halloween themed make and takes

And other fun ones too

And this fun Christmas one

And this great card

And then these are the projects that my friend Paula's mom Ann made during the weekend.

And then I finished off this canvas I started back in July.

I am pretty tired I have to say - and apparently I injured myself somehow during the weekend as I am limping around!! But it was another great event and everyone had a ball. Really looking forward to next year as we decided to have a Harry Potter theme! And now that I have most of my life back I will be able to get down to my craft room more. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
