Crafty Weekend - Day 2

So wow - day two of Maker Mania 2 was as chock full of great ideas and classes as day one. I still haven't done any of the actual classes from the event, but I have really enjoyed all the videos. Not to mention that I have quite a long list of goodies I want to order! LOL

I did do a little bit of actual crafting. I did a couple more layouts for my 2011 Cruise. Love using the 49 and Market paper that I have cause it is just so pretty.

I think I am going to try and do at least one or two of the projects from the event if I can. So until next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps.

Crafty Weekend - Day 1

I had a pretty crafty weekend I have to say. It was Maker Mania 3 - put on by 18 different scrapbook stores. I didn't really do much more than watch the videos from the first day but there are so many great ideas already I can't wait to watch the rest of the videos today and tomorrow. I did work on some crafty projects though. I finished off a mini album that I am sending to my pal Cindy. I hope she likes it!!

Not sure if I am going to do any of the projects from the event today, but I am going to definately do some crafting. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Lots of Goodies

Got some great goodies in the last couple days! And just in time to play with for my online crop this weekend! First off I got some great stuff from my crafty friend Leona and her Scrappy Apple store. Looking forward to creating more of the Colourize animals!!

Then today I got a cute package from my crafty pal Doreen. She put together an envelope full of ephemera and challenged all in the group to create with as much or as little of it as we like! Can't wait to try it all out. Might even try and d osomething with the great envelope she sent it all in!!

So it should be a fun crafty weekend for me. Till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Swapping

I got a nice swap in the mail yesterday - I actually had a fellow Canadian for a partner this time! She sent me this super cute Valentine card, as well as some nice goodies.

With my husband being out of town for the evening I just might get down to my craft room. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps.

Getting my Craft on!

I was on a role after the crop, so decided to spend the rest of the weekend crafting as well. First up I did a set of cards from a card kit I got from my crafty pal Sandy at Scrapbooking Fanatics. I didn't use everything in the kit, but I did get some cute cards out of it for sure.

I was also crafty chatting with my pal Tricia while crafting and we had a lot of fun.  She helped me with my next project, which was to do the laout that was demoed at the crop. I had a few issues, but it came out pretty good in the end. This is what I did with it - created a page for my nieces graduation album/gift.

I had some leftover pieces when I finished the page. So I ended up making this card from all of them and I think it turned out pretty cute.

Since I did a page for Taryn's album I decided to do a couple more pages for her. I got two more pages done for the book.

I didn't really finish anything else, but I did get a bit more work done on a couple more projects. Here are some sneak peaks of them in progress.

Not sure when I will get back to my craft room as I might take a a day or two off! So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

Steampunk Journey Tag

Like I said in my post yesterday, one of the projects I finished was for a swap. I did a steampunk themed tag for partner using my new Sir Vagabond and Lady Vagabond paper lines that I recently got. I had a whole lot of fun. Here are some photos of the tags in progress, as well as the finished tag.

I made some homemade embellishemnts for the tag using the moulds from the line.

After using rice paper to cover the tag I added texture to the tag using the distress glazes

Then I had to decide which papers to use to decorate the tag. The sitting figure gave
me lots of ideas on how to finish the tag so went with that page.

And here are some photos of the finished project - close ups and the full tag.
I even added some ephemera to the back of the tag!

I did a whole bunch more crafting yesterday too, but will likely wait till tomorrow to post about it as I need to get to work! So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps.

Treasured Memories Disney Crop - Day 2

Day two of the crop was another succesful one for sure - I got a lot done, though it was a little bit different than normal. With so many people they kept switching the screen to speaker view and it felt like I didn't get to see my other crafty peeps. Still had fun though and got lots done. First thing I did was the first challenge, the theme of which was Something New. I used the other Disney themed paper we got with our goodies, along with the new stencil we also got in our bag. As well, I used the special photo we always get from each crop - so lots of new things in this layout.

Up next was the first make n takes of the day - a layout this time. I used a picture of my husband and granddaughter for the layout, and then had the song Hakuna Matata going through my head all day!

Once this was finished I worked on the next challenge, which was Neutral. The amazing Doreen sent us all an extra goodie bag with a bunch of cool tidbits in it. I decided to use a bunch of stuff from that bag for this challenge and made a tag.

Since I was using the goodies from Doreen I decided to keep going with them and use the whole bag. I made a couple of cards with the left overs. The Mickey one was inspired by one Doreen did herself during the crop.

More challenges were on the schedule and the next one was a Rainbow theme. I made a birthday card using some of the fun Lawn Fawn stencils I have along with some great rainbow paper.

After supper time the next project was the second make n take of the day - another card. I decided to use this one as a Valentine for my husband. It was easy and super cute.

I spent a large portion of the day working on the projet that I used for the Handmade Embellishment challenge. It was a tag for a private swap I am doing with a Facebook friend. I did a Steampunk theme and I made some moulds for the tag so those were my handmade embellishments. I am going to do a separate blog post with more photos, but here is a picture of the whole tag.

The last challenge of the day was to do something with a Positive Message. I don't know how positive my message was, but I had fun with it. I also used up more things from our goodie bag - some Alice in Wonderland die cuts they included. I did a layout using on of my Halloween photos.

It was a really great day and I got a whole lot done. As usual, these crops get my crafty juices flowing so I am going to keep crafting today. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps.

Treasured Memories Disney Crop - Day 1

Yesterday was a very productive day for the first day of the latest Treasured Memories crop. This months theme was Disney, and even though I finished my album from my Disney trip I still got some great stuff done with the goodies we got. The first thing I did was the first make n take of the crop - this cute spinner card.

Then I did the first challenge, which was a Disney challenge. I used some of the stuff in our goodie bag to do a layout with a couple of pictures from my Disney trip that I hadn't included in my album. Love how it came out.

Since I was  doing Disney themed stuff, I decided to do a couple cards more of the die cuts that came in our goodie bag. They are pretty cute if I do say so myself! LOL

The last challenge of the day was Something Old. I did a layout with some of the GREAT paper I have by 49 and Market. The paper is so beautiful it is easy to create great layouts with it. This one is one of my favourite ones I have done in awhile. The photo is me with my parents when I was only 3 months old - January of 1968.

I have lots more ideas for the challenges today so it is gonna be another great day of crafting. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!
