Of course, right after I spend a WHOLE weekend crafting and shopping at Treasured Memories, they go and get in more goodies that I want! So OF COURSE I had to do more shopping!!

And the best part?! Did you see the fun tags they sent me? I asked Darryl to make me some custom paper with a couple logos I had, which he did. And what do you know - they go and make a tag out of one of them for me. How fun!

Can't wait to play with all these goodies! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR

So it took me a day or two to get organized once I got back from my trip to the city, but I had wanted to get some better photos of the project I made for the second challenge kit we got at the crop. Everyone else made layouts but I wanted to do something different. So I made an altered art project. This is my version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!

I am really happy with how it came out. I had lots of people tell me they voted for it, but I didn't win. Oh well, you can't win them all! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

TREASURED MEMORIES ALBERTA CROP WEEKEND

Day 3

So day three of the crop was mostly visiting and getting a little bit of crafting done. As always, they started off by feeding us and giving us more goodies!

I love all the custom paper and books we get when we go to crops at Treasured. The owner Darryl is a fantastic photographer and twice now we have received great coffee table books of his photographs. They are amazing!! And they are very generous when it comes to prizes too. I debated all weekend on whether or not to buy a certain card kit. It ended up being a prize on Sunday, and I won it!

We also did another fun Make N'Take.

I think one of my favourite parts of the weekend though was KC arranged for the Trucksicle crew from Now Radio to come for a visit. I have heard about them for ages since I listen to Now Radio all the time when I am in Edmonton, but I have never been anywhere to see them. This time I got to see them and have some yummy Popsicles to boot!!

I don't really have other photos to show from Sunday as I started working on a design team project and I can't show that off just yet. But all in all it was a very fun day! I got a chance to take Lisa to West Edmonton Mall and even though it was closed it was fun seeing the reaction of someone who has never been there before! And we had a really yummy supper at Bubba Gump's too. All in all a very successful trip! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

TREASURED MEMORIES ALBERTA CROP WEEKEND

Day 2

Well as I said earlier, I spent all the first day of the crop working on a project for my sister. She wanted me to help make an album for her boyfriend with pictures of his kids when they were younger as he really has none of those pictures (his ex wouldn't give him any). I had about half the book done before I came to the crop, but I did 19 pages on Friday night. Instead of taking individual photos though I did a short video just to show what I worked on for most of the crop! Here is how the album came out - I can't wait to see his reaction to it!

Since I got this project done on Friday as I hoped, I was able to work on my own stuff on Saturday. I basically brought stuff to work on layouts of some vacations and of my grand kids. I did pretty good. Here are some pictures of the layouts I got finished.

This was the first Make N' Take that they did at the crop. I loved it and decided to make my challenge project a companion page to this one.

So this is what I did with the challenge kit.
I didn't win but I love that it goes with the Make N'Take page!!

This was the second Make N'Take. So cute!!!

I did another layout to go in my Jasper/Banff Adventures album!

This is what I did with the second challenge kit.
I didn't want to do another layout
and I had lots of people say they voted for this project, but I didn't win.
I need to get a better picture of it, but that will have to wait until I get home.

Supper of course was another yummy one. These home made Turkey Pot pies were super yummy, though really huge! I took half home for my dad to finish off!

I then got a few more pages done after supper. Was a pretty productive day I have to say!

Had another great day cropping - can't wait for tomorrow. Till then, stay crafty my peeps!

TREASURED MEMORIES ALBERTA CROP WEEKEND

Day 1

The crafty adventure has begun! It was fun this trip having a co-pilot and fellow crafter along with me for the fun. Lisa had never been to Edmonton before either so it was a blast showing her around!!

We did a bit of running around in the city when we first arrived, but then it was off to Treasured Memories for all the fun and crafting to begin!!

I spent all of Friday working on a project for my sister. I will post more about it tomorrow as I want to take a video when I get back to my parents house. I couldn't really take photos or post on Facebook as I didn't want to ruin the surprise before Sunday when I give the gift to Shaun.
I had a lot of fun making it though that is for sure!

And then of course we got totally spoiled with the fabulous stuffed burgers that KC always makes for the summer crops. They are soooooo YUMMY!!!! And this year her mom was a total ROCK STAR - she ended up having to cook them for us in a torrential down pour!!

A VERY successful first day of cropping. Even getting some crummy news from my doctor didn't slow me down much (I am all good, just have to have some tests so no big deal). Really looking forward to more cropping tomorrow. Till then, stay crafty my peeps!

VINTAGE BARN - CCB CREW PROJECT

So another of my design team projects for the Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew was up on the blog today. I was rather surprised to be tagged in the post about it, as I normally watch to see when my stuff might be coming up and I totally missed this one! I guess life/work has been crazier than I thought!

Anyway, here is the link to the project on the Canvas Corp Brands Blog that I would love it if you checked out. And here is some more on the project here on my blog!

I made a canvas for a gift for the France - a wonderful woman who works for me at my store. She has been with me almost from the beginning and she is such a great employee. I know she loves old barns and I had just been out at a local crop where we ended up taking a group photo in front of an old barn. I thought it was the perfect photo to use for the project. I also had just received my order with several of the mix and match pads so was excited to use those on a project.

I started the project by painting the canvas with the crimson paint.
I love how dark or a red this paint is and it gave me the look of a vintage barn that I wanted.
I then added dimension to the project by adding the modeling paste through a stencil.
I added colour to the modeling paste using the colour wash paint.

The next step was to figure out which paper I wanted to use.
Once I had the papers I wanted I tore them and distressed them to give them an antique look.

After I had all the papers I wanted I placed them on the page to see how
I wanted the project to look when finished

After I had everything places as I wanted I attached them all to the canvas and then finished by attaching the photo. Here are some close ups of the canvas, as well as the finished project.

France loved the gift as much as I loved making it. And I really had fun playing with all the vintage papers from the mix and match pads that I ordered. They are amazing! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

NOTE: Here are the products I used for this project (go to the Canvas Corp Brands store to check them all out!)
Wood Canvas (8 X 6)
DeSerres Crimson Acrylic Paint

Tattered Angels Colour Wash Paint - Green Tea

Did another fun paint night with the fabulous Mary Bartsch! We used MonDo again as the location for the class and this time I was not working so was able to participate in the class too!  I just love how things turned out for this class.

This was the beginning stages of the painting. I love how Mary can
show us how to take a plain white canvas and make it look like actual wood!!

And here are the two groups of ladies that came out for the class. I love how some people did the dream catcher and a couple of us did the butterflies. My favourite part of taking classes is seeing how though we all learn the same techniques everyone's project turns out different!!

And this is my finished painting! I hung it up in my bathroom as it is
complemented by the colours I have in there.

I really love doing these painting classes with Mary. Looking forward to doing way more! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

ATC Set

Hey everyone! This is the project I submitted for April for the Canvas Corp Creative Crew. This was another project that didn't end up getting used, so again I can show it now here on my blog. I am slowly getting the hang of doing stuff for the CCB crew and I have had a few projects on the blog so really can't complain!

I wanted to do a quick easy project this month, and also show everyone how you can use ALL your supplies - even the paper that comes as part of the packaging! I am in several groups that swap ATC's so I make them quite a lot and wanted to show just how I go about it!

First off, here is a quick video showing how I got started with these ATC's.

This is what I use for a base for my ATC's - just some thick cardboard. I often use the cardboard that comes as stabilizer when you get a paper pack or other crafting products.

The next step was to add paper to it. As I said in my video, all this paper was the packaging from Canvas Corp products that I had purchased.

And here are some photos of the finished ATC's.

I hope you enjoyed my little video tutorial and like the ATC's. I am looking forward to doing more projects for the Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew! And make sure you check out their store to see all the great products they carry. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

NOTE: Again, here is a list of the products I used on this project:
Packaging from 7 Gypsies Architextures Findings
Colourd Burlap from Mix and Match Pad - Sand and Sea
Architextures Findings - International Coins
Architextures Findings -Vintage Keys Collections
7 Gypsies Architextures 8 X 8 paper pad
Shells, Brads and Square Tiles (from the hardware store)

PALETTE DELIGHT

Hello again everyone! This is my third project for the Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew. I am finally getting caught up and it is so exciting! I submitted this project for March, but it did not end up getting used so I can share it here on my blog now. I am still working on getting better at my photos and such, and I know they have a huge design team so not all our projects will get used. I am just really enjoying working with all their great products and hope you take the time to check out their store and see all the great stuff you can get!

This is a project I made just for me - more art for my walls at home. I found some wooden artist palettes at my local dollar store and I just HAD to create something with them. I had so much fun using the Tattered Angels Color Wash paints on my last project I had to play with them some more. I wanted to see what other fun colour combinations I could come up with. I also had to use more of my Tattered Angels Glimmer mists. I really hope you like my project and it gives you inspiration to try out these great products.

This is what the palette looked like when I started.

The next step was to paint it with a layer of gesso.

Then I gave it some texture by adding heavy gesso through a stencil.

As I said, I wanted to play some more with my Colour Wash paints and Glimmer mists, so these are the ones I used on the project. This is what the next step looked like once I added them.

After I had done the spraying it was time to add some of the other elements to finish off the project. Since it was an artist palette, I figured it needed paint brushes somewhere. Here are some close ups of the project, as well as a look at the finished palette.

I am having a lot of fun working on projects for this design team and I look forward to doing more of them throughout the year! Hope you liked this one. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
