Getting a Little More Crafty

So golf was fun yesterday, and really hot! So since I needed to cool off I did a bit more crafting! I started a couple more swaps, though I didn't finish them. I did get a good start on them though.

Being stupid hot again today I will likely end up doing more crafting again tonight. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

Treasured Memories Flamingo Crop - Day 2

The second day of the Flamingo crop was just as productive as day one, if not more so! I got three different swaps finished and now all I have to do today is get them packaged and ready to go into the mail!! I was able to use the same swap for almost all of the Saturday challenges so it worked out really well. For that swap I had to make 8 mini slimline card fronts and I decided to use a whole bunch of the flamingo pictures from the custom paper that was in our goodie bags. It worked out perfectly, as I was able to use these card fronts for the Pink Challenge, Make It Repetitive Challenge, Use Thick Bold Lines Challenge and the Use Thin Delicate Lines Challenge. So basically this one swap projects was good for 4 out of 5 challenges for the day!!

Then the last challenge of the day was to Give Your Project Dimension, so I finished two other swaps that I was able to use for this challenge. I signed up for a Steampunk swap and got two partners, so did those tags for this swap. One I had to wait till this morning to take photos as I used crackle paste and it needed to dry overnight, but I love how they both came out!!

Once I got some of my swaps done, I worked on the two make n takes from the crop. For the first one - a layout - I used a photo my my crafty pal Tricia and I. It came out great!

Then the next one was a cute little flamingo card. I doubt I will give it away as it is just too darn cute to send to anyone else!

Since I was on a role with the goodies from the goodie bag, so did another layout with a couple more pictures of Tricia and I. I really love how it came out.

I got inspiration from another gal at the crop to use some of the last of the die cuts from our goodie bag. I used Dina Wakely Gloss Spray on them and made a card - love how it came out! The flamingos look - and almost feel - like those plastic flamingos in people's yards! It is too cute!

The last project I ended up doing for the day was anothe swap I had to get done. This one was to do a Disney tag and I decided to use some of the classic Winnie the Pooh paper that I had. It was glitter paper so I ended up with glitter everywhere! But the tag turned out pretty good I have to say!

We are planning on golfing today, but I have several more swaps to finish so I will likley end up in my craft room later today. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

TM Flamingo Crop - Day 1

Had a good start to my crafty weekend with the first night of the Treasured Memories Flamingo themed crop.  We got so many cute things in our goodie bags it was easy to make some fun stuff! First thing I did was the make n take - a cute little candy holder.

Next up was the first challenge - Flamingo inspired. I scraplifted an idea that another friend did and used one of die cuts we got to make a cute card!

I was tired after a long day/week, so I only did the one other challenge before I headed off to bed. This time the challenge was to do something summer themed, so I decided to start another cruise album. And I used more of the cute die cuts and ephemera we got for this layout too.

And for a change I finally won a prize! I put my name in for one of the folios that they were giving away as a door pize and I actually won it! It has been a while since I won a prize at a TM crop!

It was getting late at this point and I did not really have the brain power to start my swaps yet, but I didn't really want to be done yet, so did one more small project - I made one of the die cuts I got from TM a while ago - a parrot. I plan to use it on another layout for the cruise photos I just started (since one of them is a parrot photo!!)

And even though I didn't end up going to sleep that early, I am already awake early today and all ready to keep creating! So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

YAY My Crafty Weekend is HERE!!

SO happy that my weekend is here and I get to be crafty! Of course I am also happy my grandkids have gone home - LOL! I love them, but man I am getting too old for taking care of them that long! They are ridiculously cure though - and great subjects for my crafty layouts. Like I said yesterday, I was able to finally finish the Teddy Bear layout - the last project I wanted to do from the library crop. I had been waiting for more brown paper that came with my TM goodie bag. The layout came out even better than I had hoped! My friend Wendy's layout was such great inspiration!!

Then today I got some great happy mail! First up was my goodies from Scrap Addicts. They finally got their Salvaged Patina order so I can finally play with the new Tim colour!!

My box of goodness also had my Maker Mania 3 kit. I love that it is Graphic 45 paper this time. Some really great stuff in the kit - looking forward to the event for sure.

And it wouldn't be me if I didn't have extras in with my shippment from Scrap Addicts. I don't think I am able to NOT shop with them!!

The other happy mail I got is a couple of swaps from my crafty pals! First up is an altered paint brush, plus a TON of goodies from my crafty pal Margaret. I just LOVE it!!

Next I got a wonderful trifold pocket letter made out of an envelope from PJ. A girl after my own heart with the Graphic 45 paper she used!!

So now I just have to wait till the end of the work day so that I can go home and get my craft on! So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

Bird House Swap and Getting Ready for a Crafty Weekend

So I definitely needed some crafty time last night after I got my grandkids to bed! You gotta love them, even when they are being little jerks - LOL!! But it meant I got the bird house I was making for my swap finished. I hope my partner likes it!

Then today I got the goodies for the Treasured Memories Flamingo crop in the mail. The totally spoiled us as usual. I just love all this months goodies!! The paper this month is so fun!!

And it would not be a normal month if I didn't buy myself a few extras. This time I got a couple of Graphic 45 Kits that looked cool. I also got more of the brown paper like what they sent in our make n takes for the library crop so I can finish off the 12 X 12 layout and scrap-lift Wendy's idea!

I also got a sweet treat from my pal KC - one of the owners of the store. She said she saw this when she was in IKEA and could not possibly leave the store without getting it for me. I really do have the best friends - LOL!!!

My nieces are pretty damn cool too! Bee got me this fun gift when she was working at the video store and was finally able to get it to me thanks to TM. I already have them up in my office.

My other happy mail today was a swap from one of my crafting groups. This one was a mermaid tag that is stupid cute, along with some great extras. I just love all the great swapping groups I am in!!

So I think tonight I am going to try and get that teddy bear layout finished - that way I am totally done the last crop and will be all ready for this weekend's crop. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!!

Just a little crafty

So as I thought, didn't get much time in my craft room as my grandkids took up most of my evening. But luckily they wanted to go to bed kinda early so I did get a bit done! First off, I had to put away the new goodies I got in the mail! I am part of the new VIP group with Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and I am taking one of the new classes they are offering with Cathy Allen. I ordered the kit supplies through my fabulous crafty pal Sandy at Scrapbooking Fanatics - she was the very FIRST store I ever bought crafty goodies from, so I try and support her whenever I can! And I got some fun goodies along with my class supplies.

Then once the kids were sleeping I decided to go down and start on one of the MANY swaps I have signed up for! The first is an altered bird house and I got a pretty good start on it. I need to add flowers and stuff but it is pretty close to done.

I need to get it in the mail by the end of the month, which shouldn't be an issue. Especially since I have a crop coming up this weekend. So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!

May Long Weekend Adventures

So this weekend was more about camping and relaxing, but I did get some crafting in as well. We did our first camp of the season and we had a lot of fun! I also now have some great photos for the Glamping themed TM crop that is coming up next month.

My hubby normally does most of the work while camping.

But I wanted to help, so I said I would make the fire on Saturday.

I was successful!! I made my first fire with next to no help.
And on Sunday I made one with NO help from my hubby at all!!!

This is my new favourite treat for camping - strawberries with marshmallow fluff,
them you toast them over the fire. SO YUMMY!!!

Then there is my dog who thinks he is a lap dog - he is not! LOL!!

Or a human - can we say SPOILED!!

I of course could not go the whole weekend without doing some kind of crafting, so I brought a couple of my smaller diamond dot kits out with me. I actually got a fair amount done on the Spiderman one that is for my grandsone.

We also got out for our first round of golf of the season once we got back from camping.

We had fun but DAMN was it cold!!

After we got home from golfing, my hubby wanted to watch the hockey game, but with the Oilers on a losing streak and the game not going well I decided it was too depressing to watch the game so I was going to craft instead! I turned the alcohol ink backgrounds I worked on last week into cards, and also got around to doing one of the Maker Mania 2 layouts. I used it as another page for my nieces grad album.

So we have the grandkids this week, which means I won't have a ton of time in my craft room. But I have swaps I have to get done so I am sure I will get down there at least a bit. Till next time then, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!

Getting Ready for the Long Weekend

So I didn't really spend a lot of time in my craft room last night - I was spending my time getting ready to go camping this weekend! But when I was on Facebook yesterday I saw the coolest technique that one of the gals on the Tim Holtz Addicts group did. She used a salad spinner to create backgrounds with her alcohol ink. I just had to go out and get a cheap salad spinner from the dollar store and try it. And I absolutely LOVE how they came out. I plan to do way more of them when I get back from camping!!!

And of course now that I am going to be camping I end up getting some cool crafty goodies in the mail! I finally got the last of the diamond dot kits I ordered! I ordered these months ago so it was fun that they finally came!!

I also got this super cool kit from one of the gals that I swapped with last month. She said she had planned to send me the kit with my swap but forgot and I told her not to worry about it. But she sent it anyway! I can't wait to do it!!

I sent my hubby to the post office a second time today too cause I knew that I had goodies coming from R&R Scrapbooking. Almost disappointed that I can't play with it all for a bit!

I also got a lovely swap today in the mail - ATCs from a fellow Canadian crafter. So pretty - I love that I have swaps from people all over the country (and the world!!).

So now I just have to wait for the work day to be over so that my camping weekend can get underway! So till next time, stay safe and stay crafty my peeps!!
